our apartment  Chalet Apartment
Les Marmottes is spacious, traditionally styled and laid
out on two floors - a 'chalet within a chalet'. The apartment offers superior quality self-catering, superb mountain views to enjoy and plenty of space to relax. Skiing is accessed via the Olympe gondola from Les Allues, taking you to La Chaudanne in Meribel. Accommodation Entrance area - large storage cupboard / wardrobe; downstairs wc. Living Room: Open - plan living / dining area with kitchen. Two comfortable sofas and an armchair; beautiful mountain views; electric woodburner - style stove; flatscreen TV with DVD player and a selection of DVDs. Stereo CD player / radio; CDs books and games. Games console (2 controllers) and a selection of games. Sofabed: The larger of
the two living room sofas can be converted to a
comfortable double bed, which allows flexibility of
sleeping arrangements (maximum permitted Dining area - pine dining table & chairs for six; Doors open out onto the balcony - the ideal place for breakfast or lunch in the sun in summer. Balcony furniture and sun umbrella provided in summer. Kitchen L-shaped
kitchen area (open-plan with living Heating electric radiators throughout plus electric wood burner-style stove in the living room. Also available (extra charge) Cot hire; grocery delivery ready for arrival. Upper

sleeping area, bathroom and wc on the upper

Double bed - spacious room with views of the
mountains and village. Built-in wardrobe. Next to the
double bedroom is the fully tiled. bathroom
- bath (and over-bath shower) vanity washbasin and
large heated towel rail. Separate, 2nd
wc. Bedroom 2 - Bedroom 2 can have either two single beds, or the beds can be joined to make one large double bed ('superking'), making the apartment ideal for both couples and family groups. Although smaller than bedroom 1 this bedroom also has a full size wardrobe, is very cosy and enjoys the best mountain views. Sleeping area - between the two bedrooms, can be curtained off and is virtually a third bedroom. Full size Single bed with storage drawers. Velux window and mountain views. Families are welcome . . . The apartment is well suited for family skiing as there is an easy walk to the gondola of just 10 minutes, with no steep hill to climb. Ski and snowboard equipment for all ages can be hired from the village ski shop, just a few minutes walk from the chalet. In winter there is a crèche and nanny service for just one minute's walk from the chalet, with fully qualified NNEB nannies. The ski school meeting point and the ski-kindergarten are at Meribel's Chaudanne, conveniently situated at the Olympe gondola arrival point. There is plenty of room for a cot in the double bedroom - cots and high chairs available to hire locally. Please note, care is needed with young children on the balcony, open-tread stairs and open-plan living room / kitchen. In Summer The chalet is perfectly located for either a relaxing or an active holiday, with a wide choice of mountain activities close at hand. The apartment has a balcony with stunning mountain views and there are shared grassy areas for sitting outside in the sun (these areas are not fenced).

You can make a booking by email or phone - a booking deposit of £180 per week booked is payable on booking. A refundable security deposit of £200 will be payable with the balance of rental. The security deposit is held against damages and refunded after the holiday (normally within seven days). Holiday Insurance, maximum numbers etc You will need holiday insurance to cover you during your stay at the apartment, including cancellation cover. The maximum number of people is six. Pets are not allowed. About our region Winter Chalet Apartment Les Marmottes is situated in the charming village of Les Allues (1100m) which is 6 kms from Meribel in the heart of the vast ski area known as the Trois Vallees. There is a village ski run for returning at the end of the day (see below). The Olympe gondola lift from Les Allues links skiers and boarders directly to 600 kms of superb pisted ski runs, served by a fast modern lift system. There is also a ski shuttle bus from Les Allues to Meribel which this season will run approximately every 40 minutes. The bus is free with your lift pass. From chalet to Olympe gondola (to Meribel, La Chaudanne) - 10 mins. walk (no steep hills to climb). From chalet to ski bus stop (to Meribel, La Chaudanne) runs every 40 mins approx.- 5 mins. walk From chalet to village centre bars, shops, restaurants, etc - 4 mins. walk Village Ski Run Les Allues has a ski run for returning to the village (snow conditions permitting). The run starts at the top of Tougnette, or you can join it at a mid-way point where the Roc de Fer and Olympic chairlifts meet. It is pisted nearly all the way back into the village and is normally open from late December until late March. You arrive back in Les Allues opposite a charming village restaurant and the ski shop. It is then just a 4 minute level walk back to the chalet door. Les Allues - Village Facilities and Shops Olympe gondola to Meribel and a ski shuttle bus * Ski and Snowboard hire shop * Village ski run * Childcare in village - crèche and nanny service Supermarket and shop * Choice of 4 restaurants / bars * lively village bar with live music each week. The Olympe Gondola This is a modern 6 person gondola and takes you from Les Allues to Chaudanne in Meribel (altitude 1450m) in approximately 12 mintes. Chaudanne , Meribel From the Olympe gondola arrival point a ski path leads to a choice of other lifts at Chaudanne which can link you to any point in the Trois Vallees. The ski school meeting place and the ski nursery are also at Chaudanne, with a non-skiing nursery close by. For beginners the nursery slopes are easily reached using the Rhodos gondola from Chaudanne. The Meribel valley is the middle valley of the Trois Vallees ski area, making it the ideal starting point for exploring the whole region. In the Meribel sector there are 16 gondola lifts, 18 chairlifts, 18 drag lifts, 9 beginner lifts. There are also 520 snow cannons to re-inforce snow cover if needed. Skiing reaches a height of 3,100 m and includes a glacier. Summer
Les Marmottes is ideally located for an active mountain holiday or a relaxing one., taking in the stunning mountain scenery, picnics in the fresh alpine air and relaxing on the sunny balcony. Mountain sports and activities are all easily accessible from Les Allues, which is also well placed for sightseeing. There is a wealth of interesting places to visit nearby and the traditional village of Les Allues itself is welcoming and full of charm. Beautiful mountain walks start right at
the chalet door, The Vanoise National Park is a paradise for walkers and hikers with 500 km of maintained and marked paths. The main
summer season in Meribel is during July and August
(resort amenities fully open). As well as walking,
cycling, etc, you will find a huge choice of organised
activities and adventure sports for all ages. The nearest airport is Chambery, just 50 minutes away, which is now served by several low-cost airlines. Other nearby airports :Geneva - 2hrs 15 mins; Lyon - 1 hr 50 mins. Driving time from Calais approx. 9 hrs. Full directions to the apartment are available. Les Allues to Meribel - 6 kms (approx. 3.5 miles), 9 mins by car.
