Clos de Moreau is situated on the D70 in the hamlet of La Bonte, just off the Nyons to Gap road.

Small roads and footpaths criss-cross the surrounding mountains . One of the finest views, especially at lavender time,can be found on the route from St. Jalle to Buis les Baronnies .(D108 )

All round the area there are vine yards and "Caves" selling high quality wine. e.g. Cote de Rhone, Cote de Baronnies, Gigondas, Chateauneuf-du-Pape, Beaumes-de-Venise, Clairette de Die, etc.

House

The house was originally a typical Provencal stone farmhouse, but was converted in the 1930's to an urban-style rendered house.

Attached to the house is a stone cottage which has been carefully restored.

The cottage is self-contained and has its own entrance.

Of the three "caves" one still has the wine making equipment and barrels inside. Now only four acres of grounds, including a cherry orchard. remain attached to the property.

From the orchard, vineyards rise up to the mountain of Moreau from which buzzards can be seen and heard.The Haute Alps begin further up the D94 to the east, and the fertile Rhone Valley is situated in the west.

Pool

Swimming Pool 10 x 5 metres

Use of the pool is unrestricted.

The shallow end of the pool is 1 metre deep sloping to 3 metres at the deep end.

There are standing ledges round the pool, and steps into the shallow end giving easy access to the pool.

An automatic robot cleans the pool daily during the summer months.

A safety fence surrounds the pool to prevent unauthorised access by young children.

This conforms to pool safety as decreed by French Law.

About our property

The Apartment (sleeps up to 4 people)

Kitchen - fully equipped with electric oven/grill, microwave oven, fridge-freezer, automatic washing machine, dishwashing machine, pine table and chairs.

Ample crockery, cutlery and cooking equipment are supplied. A combination boiler supplies hot water and central heating if needed.

Sitting/dining room - comfortable 3 seater settee, two matching arm chairs, pine table and Welsh dresser.

Lovely views to mountains from windows.

Bedroom 1 - large bedroom with mountain views, pine double bed, chest of drawers, wardrobe, chairs and bedside tables.

Bedroom 2 - a room with twin beds, chest of drawers and clothes hanging space, etc.

Shower room - with shower, toilet, and washbasin in vanity unit.

Cottage (sleeps 2)

Two people can be accommodated in the cottage which is near the swimming pool. It has its own entrance and is separated from the flat.

Double bedroom with double bed, wardrobe, drawers and bedside table.

Shower room with shower, toilet and wash basin.

Large room with fully equipped end kitchen (with fridge, gas hob, electric oven and microwave, washing machine and all amenities). Two settees, dining table and 4 chairs. Relax or eat meals on the shady balcony overlooking the courtyard.

Facilities

Linen - Blankets or duvet and pillows are supplied but your own linen and towels are required. These can be provided at an extra cost of £12 per unit per week.

Babies and Toddlers - For babies we can supply a travel cot, feeding chair, pushchair; also paddling shell and several toys and books for toddlers. No extra cost.

Outside Furniture - Large table and chairs, sun beds, and reclining chairs are available in the garden and around the pool. Two barbecues also.

When booking please forward £50 per week deposit for the flat or cottage; £100 per week deposit for the flat and cottage. The balance must be paid 28 days before your booking commences.

We strongly advise that you insure your holiday in case of cancellation.

Gas and electricity are included.

Surrounding Area

There is a baker's and general shop in Condorcet about 2km from the house.

Another general shop and wine co-operative
are 2km along the D94 towards Gap.

Nyons, an attractive market town renowned for olives, olive oil and wine, is only 7km away. There are three large supermarkets, and markets on Thursday and Sunday mornings.

Eating out

There several reasonably priced restaurants in the area. Within easy walking distance is Le Charette Bleu, deservedly well known over a very large area.

Other restaurants nearby include Le Restaurant in the village of Curnier, Auberge de Trente Pas at St.Ferreol.

In Nyons there are several restaurants of character in the upper old town.

Getting there

La Bonte comes within the commune of Condorcet which is easily reached from the Montelimar Sud exit on the A7 Autoroute.(35miles)

Nīmes, Marseille and Lyon airports are all within travelling distance of the house.
