The domaine La Cabane is situated in the Céou valley in the Dordogne/Lot region of France and here you will find a completely renovated “Maison Bourgeoise” from the XVIII century with:

3 very comfortable bed & breakfast rooms.

3 spacious holiday homes with all comforts.

A beautiful swimming pool (12 x 6 metres) with sun loungers and sun umbrellas.

Grounds of 5 acres.

The quietness of rural countryside, doing absolutely nothing at the edge of the chlorine free swimming pool or a holiday were you visit all the famous tourist sites nearby, Your Dutch hosts, Carin and Occo (who both speak English fluently)  offer you a very warm welcome.

All our spacious and comfortable Bed & Breakfast rooms are very nicely decorated and each with its own en-suite luxurious bathroom with shower or bath and WC.

The English style breakfast is served on our large terrace overlooking the Céou valley.

Holiday house in the traditional Quercy style, semi-detached and built in 2001, very spacious (75m²) and tastefully decorated. Large south facing terrace with garden furniture, parasol and BBQ and nice view over the woods and swimming pool.

About our Region

Our nearest town Gourdon (only 6 km), is a most vivid, typical little French town with an unspoiled medieval character, especially the old center with lots of little squares, picturesque streets and many shops. Here you will also find many nice restaurants to suit everybody’s budget and cafés with terraces to enjoy your cup of coffee in the morning or a nice glass of wine or beer. Gourdon has also several large supermarkets and every week a lively market, where you can buy all the fresh “goodies” directly from the local farmers. In short this is an area of France to be discovered!!

There are all sorts of things to do or to see during your holiday in this area, because your are exactly in the center of the two famous departments: Dordogne (Perigord) and Lot (Quercy). Go and visit the many castles, pre-historic caves, museums, beautiful medieval towns like Sarlat, Domme, St-Cirq-la-Popie etc. And last but not least Rocamadour, where you may have the feeling that you are back in the Middle Ages. All these tourist sites are within easy reach.

For our sportive guests there is also a good choice of variety: canoeing/kayaking, tennis, horse-riding, cycling, climbing, golf and yet again all these features are not very far away from La Cabane. And why don’t you just go out for a long walk in unspoiled nature and meet a deer or a wild boar. Look around and enjoy the game of the many birds of prey in their search for food.

Or just be lazy, enjoy the sun and dive into our swimming pool. It is after all your holiday!!

About food and wine

The Perigord and the Quercy are well-known for their many high quality restaurants and their famous recipes, like foie gras, truffes, cêpes, confit de canard etc. The prices in the restaurants are very reasonable and do not forget to try the dark red Cahors wine. You will never want to go back home again!!

Getting there

Airports at Bergerac, Rodez, Toulouse or Limoges are convenient for this region. Car hire available at airports.
