About
our region We are located 20km southwest of Cahors, midway between the medieval towns of Montcuq and Castelnau-Montratier. Montcuq is a small bustling town and has a wonderful market every Sunday morning. Several bars and cafes tempt you to sample the French way of life. Montcuq also boasts a small pleasure lake, which we’ve found to be a great hit with younger children. Castelnau-Montratier has a beautiful church and far reaching views across the valleys. It has a wonderful town square with places to drink, eat and while away a few hours with ease. The
area has fabulous views around every corner, About our property La Petite Grange La Petite Grange sleeps 4/5 and has 1 double bedroom and 1 twin bedroom, both en-suite. The main room is an open plan living, dining and kitchen room and is very well equipped and comfortable. Satellite TV, CD player and radio are available for your use. The furniture throughout is a mixture of antique and modern, and excels where comfort counts, such as with beds and sofas. The
kitchen has a
full sized fridge with freezer From the main room, steps lead down to the 1st bedroom. It is a comfortable room with a double bed, large wardrobe and dressing table. The ensuite bathroom houses a bath and shower. From the bedroom, there is a door that gives direct access outside. A
wooden staircase from the main room leads up to the A door leads into the shower room with a large shower cubicle and WC. In the summer, the front terrace is a great place for eating and is equipped with a barbeque. The garden to the side gives plenty of space for relaxing in and playing table tennis. The Gite has full central heating installed for winter lets and out of season B&B’s and has a wood burning stove to enhance the winter ambience. Bed and Breakfast and long term winter lets La Petite Grange is available for rent as B&B accommodation outside of the peak summer season. Evening meals may be available if arranged prior to arrival. It’s also a great place to rent for a longer term winter let, whether you’re simply taking time out of your normal busy schedule, house-hunting for the perfect holiday home, or considering moving to this part of the world. It has been said that if you like somewhere in the winter, you’ll love it the rest of the time, so why not use Lafargue as your base whilst you explore, and benefit from our hard-earned experience. Long Term Winter Lets – Subject to negotiation Getting There Our nearest airport, just over 1 hour by car, is Toulouse. By road, Carcassone is approximately 2 hours and Bordeaux, 2½ hours. Driving to us from the ferry ports in northern France takes a day, and we’ve found it fun to split the journey over 2 days and experience a B&B on the way down.
