Five gites set in a rural location with large pool and very child friendly. They lie in the rural hamlet of Le Puy de Brette near St Jean d'Angely in the Charente maritime region of SW France.

A group of Family friendly self catering holiday gites with Heated pool. It is surrounded by open countryside . The large heated swimming pool with underwater lighting and a jacuzzi, spa, garden, games room with table tennis and swings, make for the perfect self catering family friendly gite holiday and ideal base from which to explore this beautiful part of the Charente Maritime in SW France.

We believe that our gites location is the best in the Charente Maritime offering the tranquility of the countryside yet being central for all beaches and places of interest in the region. Visit the Puy du Fou ,  Fort Boyard , Futuroscope , Aquarium , & La Palmyre zoo. Theres so much to do. The hamlet is just a 10 min drive (6 miles) from all major facilities such as supermarkets and banks. The town of St Jean d'Angely also has a good selection of restaurants

Since we live in the next village we provide peace of mind that everything will be in order, clean and ready for your arrival. We are also able to provide a number of services to add to your holiday enjoyment and make it as relaxing as possible. We can provide cots, stairgates and highchairs and many other things such as toddler steps, baby baths, sterilisers, changemats etc all free of charge on request, so save you room in the car . We have a good selection of board games and books in each cottage and also we provide lots of local information and are familiar with restaurants and places of interest . We also have a 'day out folder' with the sights you must not miss and comments from previous guests about the places they've been to. We are happy to chat to you and are available at anytime, but we don't intrude on your privacy. Wendy is a registered child minder and provides a babysitting service.

Very child friendly!. The large garden is ideal for the  children to play in and make new friends whilst you watch from your terrace sipping a glass of chilled Pineau and soak up the hot summer sunshine. Lie in the shade and read or slip into the clear water of the pool to cool down.

Child Friendly

We have 2 young children and we have also been letting out our cottages to families with toddlers and children here since 1996, Wendy is a registered child minder;  so we have some experience of what children of all ages enjoy and what makes their parents holidays enjoyable too. Its usually the case that if the children are happy then the parents are too.

The games room has a selection of board games and books as well as a table tennis table. Also with sofas and tables and chairs it has a 'club house' feel - great for the older ones to hang out. The garden has swings, slide and sand pit. The pool area is completely enclosed and accessed through a self closing gate with child proof latch (stops access by children age 5yrs and under) It has a 'beach' style entrance with a gentle slope, great for paddling.

Our family friendly heated pool is completely enclosed by a min 1m10 high wall and is accessed by one gate which is self closing and has a child proof latch. It is also alarmed for extra security. The pool is 66 m2 and has a gently sloping beach style entrance, so its very child friendly and perfect for toddlers to splash around in, being just a few cm deep. It slopes gently down to an 80 cm shallow end then again down to a 1m 80 deep end. Because it is heated  even younger children will happily swim / play in it from May to the end of September. The older children will be hard to get out of it. There is a spa and two sunbathing areas with plenty of sunbeds. There is shade and sun in different areas at different times of day, there are also several large parasols too

What do we mean by Child and Family friendly ? Well, for a start we welcome families with children of all ages. That means that certainly in peak season and school holidays there will be other like minded families with children, all wanting an enjoyable relaxing stay where there are other children for theirs to play with. If your children are entertained then it usually means you'll be able to relax that bit more. Our gites are furnished with the needs of young families in mind, our large child friendly garden is perfect for toddlers....
