About
our property This pretty Charentaise house situated in
the peaceful It has a large beamed living room with log fire and is equipped with television,video and radio/cassette player. The kitchen/diner has a gas cooker,a microwave,fridge-freezer,dish washer and washing machine. There is a shower room with basin and a separate toilet. There are three bedrooms,the master has its own en-suite shower-room, with a double bed and a single bed and the others have twin beds. There is also a double sofa bed in the living room.Parties of 6-7 would be most comfortable, though there are enough beds for 9 people.
There are pillows, summer-weight duvets and blankets at ‘Cerisier’ but we ask visitors to provide bed linen and towels. Electricity and gas are included in the rental charge. The property is fully centrally heated which makes it very pleasant for winter breaks. Around the 10m x 5m pool there is a large patio complete with a brick BBQ and garden furniture. The house is detached and centrally set in three-quarters of an acre of securely fenced garden. It has far-reaching views whilst also being part of a peaceful hamlet. Here you can sunbathe or play badminton or boules, or maybe you just want to relax with a good book under the shade in our orchard and ‘chill-out’. Prices and booking information
About our region There are many interesting places to visit locally. Royan, capital of the Côte de Beauté boasts an average of 2,400 hours of sunshine per year and is within thirty miles from our house. Close too, is La Rochelle, the sophisticated harboured capital of Charente Maritime. Saintes, Cognac and Angouleme are close by and Poitiers with Futurescope is an easy day trip, as are Ile d’ Oleron and Ile de Ré. There are many outside activities nearby including a golf course and river trips at Cognac and Saintes, horse-riding, walking and swimming and of course the world famous brandy distilleries to visit. The Roman Amphitheatre at Saintes, one of the many historical sites within easy reach. We are especially pleased to have an Auberge in our hamlet providing good local meals. Nearby there is also a boulangerie and a snack-bar/shop/pub. Coucoussac has a daily delivery van for essentials. For a much wider range of shops
and restaurants, Matha or Rouillac are only a short
