by a young friendly couple, Ben & Vanessa, aided by
Ben's father Phillipe and they have a young and dynamic
team around them. The result is a really pleasant family
atmosphere. Although classed as a two star site it has much more than you might expect from such a classification. Facilities include a grocery and bread shop, bar and snack bar with takeaway service, swimming pool (with separate children's pool), and entertainment in peak season for both adults and children. This includes themed dinner evenings, karioki and disco evenings. It is less hectic than some of
the larger sites nearer the coast and has the added
attraction of being based around three lakes which are
available for fishing or simply to enjoy with a leisurely
stroll along the shady parkland paths Fishing is free during July and August, with a small fee payable outside these months. Trout, carp, pike, eels and roach are all there waiting to be caught. Our Mobile Home is a short stroll from the entertainment and bar area so if you prefer peace and quiet in the evenings you will not have a problem. The site has a lovely countryside feel to it, the roads are relatively quiet and the GR360 - one of the national footpaths of France - passes the entrance. It is also close to, and within easy reach of the many coastal resorts and places of interest in this popular Charente-Maritime region. The region is far enough south to enjoy good weather, yet is still within comfortable reach of the Channel ports making it an ideal destination for your holidays. About our region The site is situated in a countryside area close to the small villages of Saint Sornin and Cadeuil some 15 miles south of Rochefort in the Charente-Maritime region of France. The countryside around is peaceful with many quiet roads to meander along seeking out sleepy villages and small towns. On the other hand it is less than 30 minutes from many coastal resorts such as modern chic Royan and the family beach resort of La Palmyre. Royan has many fine shops and restaurants, a lovely seafront and beach as well as a colourful yachting marina. La Palmyre in addition to its safe sandy beaches has an excellent zoo which is simply a must to visit. St Palais too is a small seaside town closeby with some lovely beaches and clifftop walks. Also close to hand are the small market towns of La Tremblade with its port famous for ite oyster beds, and Saujon with the river Seudre flowing through it. The town of Rochefort steeped in maritime history and the popular Ile d'Oleron reached by a toll free bridge are also well worth a visit. A little further away the
charming town of La Rochelle with its ancient walls and
old port, the Roman town of Saintes, the brandy
distilleries of the old town of Cognac and the major city
of Bordeaux all make for interesting day excursions. We would advise booking your cross channel ferry early, particularly peak season crossings for better selection of crossings and times. Approximate distances from
