About our property Surrounded by vines and sunflowers, three comfortable gites providing accomodation for between two and five people. Ideal for holidays or when house hunting. Each gite
has it's own character and they are on three different
sides of our gardened courtyard. Living in the main house
with our family we are usually available if you should Some people
want to simply relax and do nothing when on holiday - a
chance to sit and dream or the time to read a good book
at last. Children
usually prefer a little more action and will be kept New for 2008 we have
a beautiful 10m heated and securely enclosed pool with
safety alarm plus a toddlers paddling pool, a sandpit and a selection of
toys. La Sorciere (sleeps 4 + baby) This gite
owes it's name to the witch weather vane on the roof. La Grenouille (sleeps 2 + baby) We named this gite after the tiny, vivid green tree frogs which are often found here during the summer. Hard to spot, they can be heard croaking with happiness (we assume!) when they are able to cool off under the garden sprinklers. La Grenouille is perfect for couples. It is spacious and sunny and has a good sized bedroom with plenty of space to add a cot or bed for a small child. There is central heating, TV/DVD, cooker, microwave, dishwasher, washing machine, in fact everything you are likely to need, plus your own private terrace with garden furniture and barbecue, for sitting, reading and relaxing. Le Figuier (sleeps 5 + baby) Le Figuier is named for the fig trees that seem to spring up here all by themselves.They thrive in the sun and the figs are simply delicious. At the far end of
the courtyard, with windows on both sides, we have used
calm neutral colours that reflect the Sleeping up to 5
plus a baby comfortably, Le Figuier is very well equipped
with dishwasher,washing machine, fridge freezer and
microwave plus all the little things like toaster, coffee
maker etc. There is also TV/DVD and music centre with
CD,radio and MP3. Open the French windows, light the barbeque and pour yourself a glass of wine. Relax in your South facing garden with a wonderfull view over the meadow. Eat under the shade of the gazebo, read that book at last or simply lie and dream. For most of the summer we can count on clear blue skies and at night the lack of light pollution makes for amazing stargazing. How about some shooting stars? Just look up and start counting.... Prices and booking information Prices are per gite, per week. Bookings are normally Saturday to Saturday although sometimes other start days can be arranged.
Prices in Euros on request Prices include electricity etc. Initial bedlinen, kitchen linen and bathroom towels are all provided with changes available for a small charge. Please bring your own towels for the pool and beach. Baby equipment available free of charge but please ask in advance. About our region We are ideally situated with so many things to see and do that you probably won't have time to try them all. We are only ten minutes from historic Cognac, with it's ancient cobbled streets, pretty parks and gardens, shops and numerous bars and restaurants. Cognac: Festivals: June: Police

by: Spectacular Roman amphitheatre in Saintes The lovely beach at Meschers, one in a series of pretty coves, is only 45 minutes away. La
Rochelle... probably the most attractive port on the
western coast of France. So many things to see and do
here, especially the Aquarium and nearby Maritime Museum,
interesting and fun for both adults and children. La Cabane, on the border of the Charente Maritime (17) and Charente (16) departements, is only 4 to 5 hours drive from the Channel ports, just over an hour from the La Rochelle air port and an hour and a half from Bordeaux. Check out the low cost airlines such as Ryanair, Flybe, BMIbaby and even British Airways have some good deals if you book in advance. Said to be in the second sunniest area of France (microclimate), La Cabane in the commune of Breville is easy to get to.
