This large private property in the middle of 30 acres of listed woodland will offer you the calm and beauty of the France you've been seeking.

Annie & Daniel, a Franco-Irish couple are happy to welcome you.

Their beautiful 18th century country house with the river Sèvre running in its garden has 3 beautiful recently refubished self catering gîtes (2 storey apartments), located separately from the main dwellings.

You can enjoy the extensive private grounds, from walks among the protected woodlands and river bank to a game of tennis on the "terre'baffue" court or relax in the sun cooling off in the new riverside swimming pool.

Accommodation

Our gîtes are available on a bed & breakfast or self catering basis.

There are three gites which all have river view balconies and patio with BBQ.

Gîte Les Hulottes (max occupancy 8)

Balcony with river view from the living room.

Traditional log fire place.

American kitchen: oven, microwave, fridge/freezer, washing machine, dishwasher.

1 double bedroom.

1 twin bedroom.

1 convertible sofa on mezzanine and one in living room (both double).

Gîte Les Olivier (sleeps up to 8)

About our region

Only 5 minutes awy from the lovely village of Gétigné where you can find a post office, pubs, bakers and newsagent.

10 minutes away is the town of Clisson, renowned for its Italian architechture and its 14th century castle (open to the public). This typical fortified French town is built on the Sèvre river with many bridges and traditional paved streets.

Clission is also known for its Italian Gardens along the river, 'La Garenne Lemot" where you can find surprising architecture.

45 minutes away is the large fortified town of Nantes, with a renowned cathedral and castle and many restaurants and shops.

We are only 45 minutes away from the sea and 30 minutes from the Puy du Fou (historical theme park).

You won't be without something to do while at La Sauzie.

The area of La Sèvre et Maine is in the heart of the muscadet region and offers splendid landscapes and châteaux.

Our property is ideal for enjoying the calm and tranquility of the French countryside with all the services you need in the towns of Gétigné and Clisson only a few miles away.

Getting there

One hour direct flight is available from Gatwick to Nantes. If you wish to avoid fuss we can collect you from the airport and bring you to our property for 50 euros (£30) or you can rent a car at the airport.

The Eurostar either direct (via Lille) or indirect (via Paris) offers a nice journey through France.

London-Paris: 3h and Paris-Nantes: 2 h (expect 1h - 1h30 to change stations) or London-Lille: 2h and Lille-Nantes: 4h (via Lille Europe).
