About
our chateau Le Chateau de la Vallee with its superb 30ft by 15ft heated swimming pool is idyllically set on the edge of a village near rolling countryside and the beautiful forest of Eu. The beach at Criel-sur-Mer is just a 15 minute scenic drive away and the cities of Dieppe and Abbeville are just half an hour away. The Chateau and its Cottage are fantastic properties which have been lovingly restored retaining a vast array of original features. Both properties are furnished in keeping with their rustic country chateau character and surroundings and provide those little luxuries that make a holiday here something quite special. The Chateau and its Cottage are set in their own private 5 acres of beautiful parkland traversed by a river. We particularly welcome families with children and have concentrated on making it a fantastic and safe place for everyone to have a wonderful holiday. All properties are very private with their own outdoor living areas and barbecues. They are designed to be enjoyed by three different groups of people but are also ideal to be rented together for larger groups. The superb 30ft x 15ft outdoor pool is open from mid April until October and is heated during this time. A fence surrounds the pool ensuring the safety of younger children. There is a formal garden at the front of the property, a huge lawned area at the back which is fenced off where it meets the river so children can play safely in the garden. There are bridges over the river to a secret garden area, an orchard and our very own island which is wonderful for meditation sessions! There is also a large pond, as well as a large meadow with a 12th century church ruin on it to explore. The pasture is also home to our donkey Pepito (or Pete for short!), and two ponies, Clara and Clarissa, who love meeting our guests! Each unit has its own set of games, toys and books to keep the kids amused while the grown ups relax. There's even a 1970's arcade game in the East Wing to occupy the nostalgic! Babysitting, maid service, in-house catering and bicycle hire can be arranged, subject to availability and extra charge. Two towels per person plus pool towel and bathrobes for adults plus one set of bed linen per bed per week are provided free of charge. There is a washing machine in all properties if you want to do laundry. The owners can provide high chairs and cots on request but these must be requested at the time of booking. Children, babies and friendly pets are warmly welcomed. The owners can arrange bicycles for the duration of your holiday on request, subject to availability and a charge payable at the time of booking. A bicycle with a child carriage attached to the back which fits two children up to the age of about 4 can be supplied. All cycling activity is at the cyclist's own risk.
