Welcome to Vacation
Normandy. Discover the beauty of rural France at our
family-run smallholding and village cottage, where we
offer Bed and Breakfast or Gite accommodation throughout
the year.
Our properties are located in the heart of the farming
community on the Brittany Normandy Border, and are the
perfect location for exploring the numerous delights this
region has to offer.
Take your pick of unspoiled coastline, medieval chateaux,
historic market towns and woodland walks. As you travel,
sample the delights of the local specialities of
Camembert and Calvados, or enjoy the excellent seafood
platters served in numerous local restaurants.
The local forests are home to deer and wild boar, and
provide an abundance of delicious edible mushrooms (the
local pharmacies will kindly identify them for you to
ensure that they are safe to eat!)
The region's most famous attraction is 'Wonder of the West',
Le Mont St Michel. The pre-Romanesque church was built
over a thousand years ago and over the centuries has
developed to encompass the magnificent Abbey and
monastery.
Its silhouette dominates the coastline and it draws over
3 million visitors each year. In addition there are nature parks, a
reptilarium, water parks, aquarium and zoos within easy
reach.

Welcome
to Our Family Farm
Since our relocation to Normandy
in 2004 we have been busy restoring the original farm
buildings and reintroducing livestock to the land, with
the aim of providing high quality home produce.
At present our farm comprises of free-range chickens,
muscovey ducks, turkeys, goslings, sheep and saddleback
pigs.
One of the most eagerly-awaited events on the farm is the
arrival of new offspring; some of our guests are
fortunate enough to view our newborn chicks or lambs.
This year we are proud to have raised 20 piglets and over
60 ducklings.
The farm is a wonderful experience, particularly for
children who are welcome to help feed the animals or to
pet some of our new 'babies'.
We also grow our own vegetables alongside our wide
selection of fruit trees. Wild grapes cover the ancient
pigsty. Pumpkins and courgettes are a farm speciality,
whilst raspberries and strawberries adorn the breakfast
table from June to October. In addition, the orchard
produces a bounty of peaches, plums, apples and walnuts.
The abundance of fresh produce enables us to provide a
feast of flavours for our guests to savour.
We welcome you to the farm and to share the 'good life'
we have created.
About
our Region
Leisure &
Sport activities around Le Mont St Michel Welcome to Normandy, a region steeped in
history, and home to cider making and Calvados.
The region attracts visitors worldwide, who enjoy its
spectacular coastline, lush forests, pretty villages and
impressive historical monuments.
Nature and
History
Le Mont St Michel is a 'must
see'. Its fine architecture has beckoned visitors for
over a thousand years. The rocky outcrop rises 80 metres
and this impressive monument is one of the major tourist
attractions in France. The spring tides are the most
impressive in Europe whilst its nighttime illumination
ensures its presence is constantly visible.
The Bay of Mont St Michel is a haven for wildlife,
especially the marshlands that attract an abundance of
waterfowl. Its savage beauty can be enjoyed on foot, by
mountain bike or through Pony Trekking.
For anglers, Normandy offers excellent freshwater and
coarse fishing, the tidal stretch of the River Couesnon
at Pontorson is a picturesque spot.
The Coast
The best way to appreciate
the variety of the South Normandy coastline is to take
the coastal route to Granville from Genets (just outside
Avranches). You will pass through quaint seaside resorts,
some of which have bracing stretches of beach suitable
for walks and beach combing. Others, with long expanses
of sand, are suitable for bathing.
Market Towns
Local markets are an
essential ingredient of French life. Pontorson's popular
Wednesday market fills the main street with regional
produce ranging from cider and Calvados to local cheeses
and livestock. Can you resist a crepe du chocolat as you
browse?
Family
Activities
There are plenty of
entertainment opportunities in the region, including Pony
Trekking, Mountain Biking and Land yachting.
There are also numerous musical events held throughout
the year along with theme parks, mazes and zoos,
including zoo-bourbansais.
Getting
there
The region is an easy drive from
the ferry ports of Caen, Le Havre, St Malo and Cherbourg.
Ryanair fly from Stanstead to
Dinard.
