The Manoir de Savigny

Located in France, Normandy in "La Manche" near Valognes and Cherbourg a few km from the sea, you will be welcome in this 16th century manor nestling in the country in a quiet environment.

Self Catering Cottage made up of Two gites for 3 or 4 persons (or all the cottage for 7 persons).

The central position of the Manor will enable you to visit a lot of interest places: "La cité de la mer" in Cherbourg, the Channel Islands, Jersey and Guernsey, the D Day beaches and its monuments (Utah beach, Omaha beach, Sainte Mére l'Eglise), historic sites under the label "Pays d'art et d'histoire" (Valognes the Normand Versailles, Bricquebec and Saint Sauveur le Vicomte).

The central position of the Bed and Breakfast, B&B Manoir de Savigny will enable you to visit a lot of interest sites. You will be able to take long healthy walks along the numerous beaches of the east coast (Quinéville, St Vaast Hougue, Barfleur...) and the west coast (Barneville&Carteret, Portbail...) or lie on the sandy beaches or have fun in the sea.

About our Manoir - B&B in 1 suite & 4 Double Rooms

The main building dates from the 16th century, but the foundations are still older. Important renovations have been made during the 18th century. Its setting dates from the Gallo-Roman period and Savigny was joined to the famous town of Alauna. The old Roman causeway of Cosedia borders the property.

The rooms of the manor are accessible on the ground floor by an independent entrance.

An old spiral stone staircase leads to your bedroom on the 1st floor.

Accommodation on the 1st floor:

A Suite (58 m2) with style furniture, two rooms, one is 35 m2 (a double and a single bed) the other smaller (a double bed). The suite has a bathroom with a bath-tub and WC.

Room 1 (24 m2) : This double room has a king size bed, shower and WC in the private bathroom.

Room 2 (27 m2) : This double room has a king size bed, shower and WC in the private bathroom.

Room 3 (40 m2): A very large double room with a king size four poster bed a fire-place and a private bathroom with a bath-tub..

Room 4 (26 m2): This exotic double room has a king size bed and a private bathroom with a bath-tub.

The dining room is only for guests who can enjoy a cup of tea any time of the day there.

At your disposal:

• Garden tables and deckchairs where you can read and watch wild deers eating acorns!

* Suite prices vary dependant upon number of beds used.

Extra bed: 15 Euros

When you confirm your reservation, please could you send us a deposit (50%) with a minimum of one night by room. We don't accept credit cards. Deposit can be paid by bank transfer or cheque to M BONNIFET ERIC

Check-in preferably required between 5 to 7 pm. If earlier or later please call. Check-out before 11 am.

50% of the stay (minimum 1 night) might be charged if a cancellation occurs between 45 and 7 days then 100% unless we can relet the room.

The cottage

For a week-end or holidays a recently renovated 18th century charming cottage on a 2.5 ha estate surrounded by the garden (pond) and the fields.

Two gites for 3 or 4 persons (or all the cottage for 7 persons).

Gite 1 for 3 people

On the ground floor living/dining room with sofas, large old fire place (can't be used), a bar with basic cooking facilities ( microwave, fridge).

On the first floor a large room with a queen size bed and a single bed. The bathroom is equipped with bath-tub, wash-hand basin, WC, wood floor in bamboo.

Electric heating.

Private garden (a part is private the rest is for the b&b guests and the gîte), patio, table, chairs

Gite 2 for 4 people

On the ground floor a large living/dining room with sofas, large old fireplace (can't be used), tv, cd/dvd reader, Internet access, a bar with a full equiped kitchen ( microwave, fridge, dishwasher, washing machine, dryer).

On the first floor 2 large rooms with a queen size bed and 2 single beds. The bathroom is equipped with shower, wash-hand basin, WC, wood floor in bamboo.

Electric heating.

Prices and booking information

Daily renting on request (minimum 2 nights)

Prices all including (water, bed-linen, towels) except electricity. Extra bed 15 €

Electricity: 8KWh (6 kwh for GITE 1)per day are include in the price, over electricity will be charged 0.13 € per KWh.

Final cleaning 25 € for GITE 1 or 40 € for GITE 2.
