our farmhouse Our
beautiful 15th century French stone farmhouse, will be
opening its doors to visitors seeking brand-new, stylish
B&B or self-catering accommodation from high Summer
2008.
We are
a French/English couple with two small children and a
baby due early next year, located in the rural village of
Barbery, about 30 minutes drive from the ferry port at
Ouistreham - the ideal stop-off point before venturing
further on in to France or back to England!
We are within easy reach of the Normandy landing beaches,
the city of Caen, Swiss Normande and the towns of
Deauville and Bayeux, in addition to all the wonderful
places and attractions that this part of Normandy has to
offer! Paris is about 2.5 hours by car or slightly less
by train. There are airports in Caen (20 minutes) and
Deauville (45 minutes).
We are a working farm of 350
acres, with 120 dairy cows, an ever-changing number of
calves, 200 beef cattle, several horses, a Shetland pony,
a handful of sheep, hens, two cats and our Scottie dog,
Bonnie.
Bed and breakfast guests will be served our own-produced
milk, yoghurt, eggs and preserves and we will be happy to
provide an evening meal at our family table by prior
arrangement.
We will be open all year to welcome bookings from
singles, couples, groups and families with children. Our
lawned garden borders open farmland where our horses and
cattle graze.
It is landscaped in the English
style, with cottage garden flowers, mature shrubs and
trees and an abundance of birdlife. Guests will be
welcome to share it with us and those with small children
may like to try out our extensive range of wooden play
equipment and large trampoline in our fully enclosed
children's play area.
During the summer, you can enjoy
your breakfast al fresco, in the shade of our weeping
birch tree. Afterwards, relax in a hammock or sun lounger
or take a stroll in the beautiful wooded countryside
which is right on our doorstep!
Styling will be a mixture of the
classic, the rustic and the vintage. Natural floorboards,
exposed stonework, limewashed beams, muted colours,
alongside graceful linens.
Our comfortable furnishings will
be 'country chic', with a hint of Regency, Scandanavian
and some Shaker influences. You can be assured of a
comfortable and memorable stay with us!

Bedroom 1
A first-floor bedroom with
exposed beams, wooden floor, a  King size iron and brass bed decorated
with luxurious cotton linens, scatter cushions and
patchwork quilts.
En suite bathroom with white roll-top/claw foot bath,
antique-style overbath shower, WC and basin.

Flat screen satellite TV in bedroom includes several

This bedroom will have a zip and
link bed, (may be used as twin singles or zipped together
to become a king size double bed) adorned with gently
coordinated bedlinens and scatter cushions, set against a
stylish backdrop of painted beams and wooden flooring.
Ensuite bathroom with white roll top/claw foot bath,
antique style overbath shower, WC and basin.
Bath towels provided. Hair dryer provided. Iron
available.
Tea and coffee making facilities provided.
Flat screen satellite TV with several English speaking
channels.

Fresh cut flowers from our garden in season.

Bedroom 3
A
second-floor bedroom, accessed by its own staircase, with
exposed painted woodwork and roof joists, double bed and
a dormor window overlooking the courtyard, stable and
fields beyond. Pretty linens, TV and tea/coffee making
facilities.
En suite shower room with cubicle, WC and basin.
Wifi internet access provided in room.

Bedroom 4
Private
staircase to a second-floor bedroom with exposed painted
woodwork, twin single beds and a dormor window
overlooking the courtyard, stable and fields beyond.

Can interconnect with Bedroom Three, adjacent, if
required.

The Suite
Self Contained Studio for up to 4 guests
A
stylish and extremely comfortable ground-floor Suite,
providing spacious accommodation for up to 4 guests on a
B&B or self-catering basis.
Private entrance through double doors into large,
open-plan living area, which comprises:
Free-standing
kitchen area, with electric
stainless steel hob and oven, microwave, fridge/freezer
and dishwasher. Dining area adjacent.
Lounge area with woodburning stove for log fires(logs
provided) Quality sofa converts to double bed. Flat
screen TV with access to several English speaking
channels. DVD player and selection of DVDs provided.
Internet access.
Separate
bedroom with zip and link
beds (can be used as two single beds or a large double.
Ensuite bathroom with roll top/claw foot bath and
overbath antique style shower, WC, basin and separate
shower cubicle with antique style shower.
The studio will be painted in light colours and will be
furnished stylishly in a New England/Swedish style. It
will have wooden flooring, painted ceiling beams and some
exposed stonework. It will be fully centrally heated.
Guests staying on a self-catering basis will have access
to the owner's laundry facilities.
All bed linens and bath towels will be provided.
Travel cot and high chair can be provided free of charge.
Sitting out area to front of property and full use of
owner's garden.
Additional Facility
When booking the Suite on a self-catering weekly basis,
along with all 4 other bedrooms, we will provide a
separate dining hall to seat 12 guests together around
one table. This room has a staircase to the first floor
and is adjacent to the Suite.

is served in a private Dining Room beside a log fire in
winter. In summer, you made dine al fresco or we can
provide a continental breakfast in your bedroom should
you prefer.

Guest Lounge & Dining Room
In
summer 2008, we plan to offer our guests the use of a
private salon, to relax or watch television.
Satellite TV and a DVD player with a library of DVDs will
be provided, plus a selection of games, books and toys
for children.
For the little ones
We have
just completed our enclosed sandy-surfaced  children's play area.
This is a paradise which your little ones are free to
enjoy and share with our children.....
They'll find a huge 14ft trampoline, wooden climbing
frame with slide and various swings, two playhouses, a
see-saw, sand-pit and many other toys to
discover.....Seating is provided for grown ups!
We hope our hearty breakfasts,
stylish accommodation and warm welcome will leave you
with a taste for more!

Getting
there
By Air
There are airports in Caen (20
minutes) and Deauville (45 minutes).
Dinard airport is located just
east of St Malo and flights into Dinard are operated by
Ryanair from London Stansted and East Midlands.
EasyJet operate flights into
Paris from London Luton.
Cars can be hired from the
airports.
Ferries
Brittany Ferries operate from
Portsmouth into Caen.
There are also ferries into Le
Havre from Portsmouth and also to Cherbourg.
