About our region

The White House is situated close to the Brenne National Park which offers opportunities for a variety of activities including fishing, cycling, horse riding, sailing, water skiing and some beautiful scenery to enjoy walking in.

For the kids, a visit to Futuroscope, about an hour's drive away, is a must for an absolutely fascinating day out. It really does live up to its name!

La Roche Posay offers a golf course and regular horse racing days and is a lovely place to visit and eat at one of the many restaurants or bars, as well as taking the famous spa waters with supposed magical properties!

Loches, on the river Indre, is well worth a visit, to shop in the cobbled streets beneath the citadel and castle and discover the history of this old town.

Also not far from here, is the Haute Touch zoological park, one of the largest in France.

It is worth a journey to Tours, the capital city of the Touraine, to wander round the fascinating streets of the old town with its many restaurants and bars and to sit in the main square, as the French do, to watch the world go by.

There are many chateaux and ruins to visit in the region, with the Chateau de Chenonceaux being one of the most outstanding.

And of course, there are also many vineyards to see where you can try some of the wines for which the region is most rightly famous.
