Give yourself that well deserved break you have been promising yourself. Our holiday cottages in rural France will allow you to recharge yourself, with beautiful scenery and a tranquil location.

These 170 year old holiday cottages are located in the heart of Haute-Vienne, a beautiful and picturesque region in central France. They are set in a very rural hamlet off the beaten track. There are small shops in the near proximity, one in Jouac and the other in Lussac Les Eglises, and the surrounding villages offer quaint shops and supermarkets for all your needs.

Within relatively short distances there are some beautiful lakes available for swimming, visit Chaillac with its man made beach and water flumes bags of fun for all the family" plus Lac Mondon.

The capital of the Limousin region is Limoges, which is a busy city. It is easily accessed by some of the major arteries in the country (A20 autoroute). The nearest airport Bellegarde (Limoges) is only 40 minutes away.

Whether you’re a keen fisherman, cyclist, golfer or just enjoy relaxing, there is something for you. Within relatively short distances from the cottages there are some major attractions. Visit some of the finest castles and châteaux in the country and see how the gentry of past years lived.

Poitiers boasts the futuristic cinemascope park filled with fantastic sites and rides, 3D effects to please all the family. The Loire Valley has fabulous châteaux and vineyards. La Rochelle is the nearest seaside resort, which is approximately 2hr 30mins away.

Spring in the Limousin region is mild and mainly dry, and the summers can be very warm and often humid. Autumn is cool and often dry, and winters are variable, with crisp evenings and occasional snow. 

About our property (Each cottage sleeps 4)

The oak beamed cottages consist of two bedrooms, one with a double bed the other with twin beds.

Bathrooms are fully tiled. One bathroom has a shower/massage cabin. The other bathroom has shower facilities on the mixer tap.

The ground floor of the cottages comprises:

A lounge with log burning fire, plus central heating if needed for the winter months, and fans during the summer. hi-fi are included.

The kitchen/diner is well equipped with plenty of storage units, fridge, hob and oven. For those of you without adapters, English sockets are available.



Outside facilities include garden furniture, sun loungers and parasols. A communal barbecue is also available.

These properties are highly recommended for long lets. For long lets only, washing machine facilities are available.

For families with young children, a travel cot, highchair, baby bath, stair gate and fans are available at the cottages and are included in the price.

Fishing equipment, bikes, towels and bed linen are available for hire.

NB: £100 deposit/security is required against breakages, returnable if all in tact for all weekly lets, £350 for long lets. If cancellation is more than 8 weeks from departure there will be a 10% administration charge, however if less than 8 weeks there will be charges on a pro-rata basis.

Getting there

If you are hiring a car for your vacation, from Limoges (Bellgarde) Airport, leave the car park and follow the signs for the A20 Motorway sign posted Poitiers.  Turn onto the motorway Junction 27 heading north signed for Paris. Keep on the motorway till you reach junction 22. Signed St Sulpice Les Fuilles. Exit at this junction and turn left, cross over the motorway and across a B road in the direction of St Sulpice Les Fuilles. Follow the directions taking you through the petite village of St Sulpice.  Follow the D912 to wards Lussac Les Eglises. At the crossroads for the D88 turn right towards Jouac. After approx half a mile you will arrive at Menussac. The cottages are on your left in the centre of the hamlet.
