Luxury Villa with pool located in the foothills of the French Pyrenees near the Mediterranean

Renowned for its good food and wine, the region of French Catalonia is perfectly located between the Pyrenees and the Mediterranean.

The house is located in a quiet valley with magnificent views over the mountains and a small river running along the bottom of the garden. Secluded, yet only 15 minutes on foot (2 minutes by car) from the local amenities (baker’s, pharmacy, restaurants) in the village of Reynès, you can relax in tranquillity while still being within range of activity. The lively market town of Céret is only 5/10 minutes by car and attracted a host of internationally renowned artists (Picasso, Chagall, Miro…) in the first half of the twentieth century, to which the excellent Modern Art Museum in Céret pays tribute. Its also has a wide selection of restaurants, bars, shops and a great market.

Aside from all the activities (walking, fishing, horse-riding…) on offer in the surrounding mountains and valleys, the criques and beaches of the Côte Vermeille are only 30 minutes drive away, and range from the flat sandy beaches of Argeles to the rocky picturesque criques near Collioure. The charming village of Collioure with its royal castle, narrow streets and beguiling light has also attracted artists, particularly the fauves, and is a wonderful place for a stroll, a swim and a meal.

The capital of the region, Perpignan, is only 30 minutes away by car. In the other direction you’re at the Spanish border in 15minutes and in Barcelona in 1hr 30 mins.

The house is set in a landscaped garden with a cherry orchard out the front and numerous other fruit trees round the back where a small river runs by. The pool and garden are shared with the apartment below.

Getting there

Air: The airports of Perpignan and Girona are 45 mins away (see Ryanair and Flybe) and have car hire facilities

Road: The motorway A9 exit Le Boulou.

Train: To Perpignan

Prices and booking information

Available July and August 1500 euros per week.

The price includes gas and electricity. Bed linen and towels (except beach towels) are provided.

A deposit of 30% is payable upon booking and the remainder to be paid 6 weeks before arrival.
