About
our property  La Pitchoune is a detached property set in its own gardens, bordered by a cascading stream, nestling in the Mediterranean foothills of the Montagnes Noires on the edge of the small village of Boisset with magnificent views over the surrounding hillsides and probably some of the best air in Europe. Inside the
property The house is very comfortable and pleasantly furnished. The terrace leads to: A big downstairs living area with dining room
table to one side and a cosy sitting area with TV/video,
stereo, books, and a fireplace to the other side. Open plan access leads to the fully
equipped kitchen with washing machine, dryer, fridge
freezer and microwave. There is one downstairs bedroom/living
room with a Bed linen and towels are included. Outside the property There is a big terrace partially covered in bamboo with an outside dining table. The soundtrack here is the nearby babbling brook and the views over the surrounding hills are magnificent. The absence of light pollution allows the full enjoyment of the canopy of stars, watching shooting stars and the movement of the moon over the hills. The terrace leads down towards the private drive and the enclosed garden with cherry trees. Turning the other direction, a path leads down to the stream, which, on hot days, offers a beautifully fresh atmosphere to relax in. Prices and Booking Information
Low Season: 1st October- Easter 50% of the booking fee needs to be paid at the time of booking. The remainder, together with a refundable deposit of €150 has to be paid one month prior to arrival. The deposit of €150 will be forwarded after your stay. About our region Boisset is set in the Parc Haut Languedoc, one hour from the Mediterranean beaches, 10 minutes from the ancient and historic Cathar cité of Minerve with its beautiful gorge and excellent restaurants, not far from Narbonne, and the Canal du Midi (which connects the Atlantic with the Mediterranean), the Pyrenees, the beautiful Corbières area and Spain are all within easy driving distance. This is a wine
growing area - the Minervois, Corbières, St Chinian,
Hérault, Fitou as well as the Muscat are all local wines
and the many caves offer the most delightful wines. There are numerous walks around Boisset, either up the surrounding hills from some of which you can see the Mediterranean, or along the cool stream, where in various places there are pools big enough to swim in - and of course this is a paradise for mountain bikers. Within easy driving distance you can go horse-riding, climbing, play tennis or go to a swimming pool. There is also a lake nearby where you can swim and windsurf. This is a place truly for nature lovers – those who want a private, peaceful retreat, or those who want to combine the commercialism and the crowds of the Mediterranean beaches (only one hour away), with the ability to get away from it all, to a place where nightingales sing in the evening, where eagles fly and where wild boars forage close by at night. We, the owners, live in the village. There is no commerce in the village but shops and supermarkets are within easy driving distance. Getting there La Pitchoune is less than an hour from the international motorway network. The nearest motorway access point is Lézignan/Corbiéres (Exit 25 on the A61 between Narbonne and Toulouse). Nearby airports are Carcassonne (which Ryanair fly to), Montpellier, Perpignan and Béziers. Car hire is available at the airports.
