   About our region

The Languedoc-Roussillon region of France is situated between the Pyrenees, the Camargue, the Massif Central and the Mediterranean. It has all the advantages of sea, countryside and mountains combined in a beautiful, unspoilt part of southern France.

St Geničs de Varensal is a delightful hamlet nestling in the impressive hills of the Haut Languedoc Natural Park in the Herault department of Languedoc. The area is ideal for walking, cycling, horse riding and bird-watching. It also offers opportunities to taste and enjoy the local wines direct from the growers.

The detached house is in a commanding position in the hamlet with magnificent views along the valley from its sunny balcony. The accommodation is simple yet comfortable for 2/5 people. Parking is available by the house.

About our property (sleeps 2/5)

The house is a detached, renovated and modernised property in a commanding position in the tranquil hamlet of St. Genies de Varensal.

The property is on two floors and has a lounge (with wood-burning stove for out-of-season use), a large kitchen, a large double bedroom (with an adjoining sleeping area), a second bedroom with double bed, a modern tiled bathroom with full sized bath, shower over and two hand basins and a separate toilet. The lovely, spacious kitchen opens out onto a large balcony with magnificent views along the valley to the mountains.

The house is well equipped and there is a patio table, chairs and comfortable recliners for use on the sunny balcony.

Prices and booking information

Good value weekly rates for whole house

Out of season rate - Nov - Feb £140 per week.
Low Season - March/October £150 per week
Mid Season - April/May/June/September   £195 per week
High Season - July/August £250 per week

Bookings in excess of two weeks may be discounted by negotiation

  • 5% reduction on second & subsequent weeks booked at same time
  • Linen charge (when applicable*) £12.50
  • Security deposit £50
  • Prices are for the whole house and include costs for water, electricity and gas.
  • Lettings are usually from Saturday to Saturday unless otherwise agreed.
    •

    * Normally arranged only for those travelling by air.

    Getting there
    The region also encompasses the urban centers of Toulouse (about 3 hours' drive), stylish Montpellier, just inland from the Mediterranean and about 2 hours' drive away, together with Nīmes and Carcassonne. There are regular flights to all these cities - Montpellier and Nīmes being the most convenient for St Geničs.
