This converted first floor apartment, located in the quiet village of Pailhes in the centre of Languedoc and within easy reach of the Mediterranean, is available all year round.

The 2008 Tour de France will pass through Pailhes
on July 18th.

About our region

Around Pailhes

This is a very quiet village, but we do have a takeway Pizzeria. Fresh bread and croissants are delivered to the door daily, apart from Monday (the bakery's day off)

Beziers is our largest local town (11 kms) and has a flower market every Friday.It also has the largest bullring in Europe! Via the autoroute from Beziers the old walled city of Carcasonne can be easily reached, as are the viaduct at the Pont du Gard, the amphitheatre at Nimes, the new much-praised bridge at Millau and the Spanish border.

Activities

Apart from swimming in the pool, there is golf and horse riding within a short drive, tennis available 2kms away in Thézan and canoeing on the river. There are a great many birds in this area and we had kestrels nesting on the old castle opposite for the past 2 years, if you like to observe wildlife – provided you choose the right month!

Sitting room with put-u-up settee, basket weave suite, bookcase, TV/video and light/fan fitting.

Kitchen/diner with fridge, electric hob, oven/microwave, radio/CD player, iron and ironing board.

All rooms with electric heaters for use during the winter period.

Internet Connection is available.

Swimming Pool

There is a 10 x 5 metre fully tiled swimming pool with terraced surround, contained in flower borders, ideal for sun bathing.This is shared with the owners.

There is also a large terrace with barbeque for eating out on summer evenings.

Special monthly rate for long lets from October to April €550 Euros a month plus electricity.

Getting there

By air: There are airports at Montpellier, Carcassonne, Nimes and Perpignan. Ryanair operate flights to all these airports, and do very reasonably priced flights, particularly out of season.

By train: The Eurostar from London followed by the TGV from Paris direct to Beziers.

By car: The A9 motorway from Paris via Lyon, or the A71/A75 motorway from Paris via Clermont-Ferrand.
