Villa Morrison is at the edge of the pretty village of Palaja which is 20 minutes from Carcassonne and the Canal du Midi.

Double bedroom with double/kingsize bed, fitted wardrobe, dresser and bedside cabinets.

Large bedroom with double bed, single bed, dresser and wardrobe, bedside cabinets. A zed-bed can also be supplied to accommodate another child.

The sitting room has two sofas (one a sofabed) coffee table and an armoire housing a colour TV with Sky satellite.

Bathroom with shower, washbasin, toilet and bidet.

Laundry room with washing machine, iron and board. Drying facilities outside.

Kitchen / diner with electric cooker, fridge/freezer, microwave, coffee maker, toaster, kettle and ample crockery, cutlery and glassware for 8 people.

There are also books and games.

Central heating and fans.

Wheelchair access

Chicco Apartment is very roomy and is suitable for wheelchairs, doorwidth for the bedrooms are 25.5 inches.

Entrance though a double door, good for wheelchair access to level gardens.

Willow Bungalow – 2 bedrooms, sleeps 4/6

A bungalow with 2 bedrooms, fitted wardrobe, dresser and bedside cabinets.

Both bedrooms have ensuite shower, washbasin & toilet.

Sitting room with sofabed, corner table and chairs.

Fully fitted kitchen with fridge/freezer, cooker, microwave, kettle toaster, coffee machine and colour TV with Sky satellite. Small music centre.

Utility room with washing machine iron and board. Drying facilities outside.

Eectric heating and fans.

Stepping from Willow you have the swimming pool and private garden.There is a rooftop terrace. Both properties are suitable for children.

Outside, our guests are welcome to use our large gardens and an orchard.There is garden furniture, BBQ, swimming pool of 7.5 metres x 3.5 metres and no deeper than 1 metre deep. There are also 4 patio areas.

Prices and booking information

The prices above are for weekly lets of either gîte and are in pounds sterling. Nightly lets are possible, please ask for further information.

A 20% deposit is required on booking either gîte and the balance payable on arrival by cheque or cash.

About our region

The pretty village of Palaja is a leisurely 10 minute stroll from the gîtes. The local amenities include a small supermarket, pharmacy, hairdresser, post office, tobacconist, baker and doctors. There is also a tennis court and football pitch and a children’s play area.

The medieval city of Carcassonne is a 20 minute drive and has an abundance of shops, museums, cafés, bars and restaurants. There is also a wonderful 12th century fortress which is a superb place to visit. It is rich in Cathar history and is mentioned in books such as The Albigensian Crusade and The Labyrinth.

The Canal du Midi, a world heritage site, meanders through the centre of Carcassonne, flowing out to the Mediterranean via small villages on its way.  There are also nice canalside restaurants and hire boats available. 

The Mediterranean with its wonderful seaports and beaches and great seafood restaurants, is only an hour away, as are Spain and the ski resorts of Cambre D’Aze & Puigmal in the Pyrenees. 

The lovely Lake of Cavayère is nearby and only a 10 minute drive It has a good beach which is safe for children. Other activities available here are canoeing, fishing and a really good assault course for all ages. There are also shower facilities, picnic areas, football and volleyball pitches and equipment hire.

The Golf Club de Carcassonne is only a 10 minute drive away and has a superb 18 hole course, excellent for any golfer. There is a bilingual coach; a friendly bistro serving good food and visitors are welcome.Equipment can also be hired.

The ski resorts in the Pyrenees of Cambre D’Aze, Puigmal are a 1.5 hour drive and Font Romeu is a 2 hour drive.

Getting there

The airport at Carcassonne is only a 15 minute drive from the gîtes. There are daily flights via Ryanair from the UK, Ireland and Belgium.

The airports of Perpignan, Montpellier and Toulouse are 1.5 hour drive away and have daily flights to and from the UK.

A car, motorbike, or bicycle is necessary to get to the gîtes.
