Luxury Tours - Always a New Adventure

Ultimately, you're the guide. One of the great advantages of being owner-operators is that we have the flexibility to change the itinerary depending on what's happening culturally in the region, unexpected weather, and, of course, what you want to do.

A hot day is great for going to the Mediterranean or a journey into the high Pyrenees. If, as often is the case, you've reserved the whole hotel with a group of friends, we can be extremely creative, emphasizing a particular theme or interest. Your guide—full of historical, geographical and cultural information—is never far away.

Guided outings are offered every day except Wednesdays. If you wish to go off on your own on a particular day, we can provide you with maps, other information, and a bicycle. Golfing at the beautiful Carcassonne Golf Club is also an option.

About our region

We're based in the town of Limoux. Located in the Pyrenees foothills of the Languedoc region of southern France, Limoux's medieval streets offer almost every commercial amenity while maintaining the simple, unspoiled charm of a traditional southern French town. The central square, the Place de la Républic, is home to cafés, restaurants, pastry and bread shops, and a variety of other food and specialty shops.

Languedoc

The French know Languedoc as "La Petite France"—within its relatively small area you'll find every type of geographical feature existing in the rest of the country. Limoux is the hub of the Aude River Valley: travel to the east and you'll reach the white sandy beaches of the Mediterranean; to the south, the high Pyrenees, and the frontier with Spain; to the west, the Toulousean plain; and to the north, the Cévennes forests.

Everywhere around Limoux, you'll find vineyards, sunflowers and more wild flowers than you can imagine—wild thyme, rosemary, bright red poppies, and lavender.

Weather

The weather in Limoux is delightful and the summer evenings stay pleasantly warm. With more than 300 days of sun per year, rain is the exception. April through October temperatures generally range from 65º to 85º Fahrenheit, (20º to 30º Centigrade) with occasional days of 95º (35ºC) in mid-summer.
