It is in the 13th district (arrondissement) within a 5 minute walk of the Bibliotheque Nationale, the line 14 Metro and the River Seine

The apartment is a 50 square metre with two bedrooms, with kitchen, living room, bathroom and walk-in closet. It has large windows on 2 sides overlooking, in one instance, a treed courtyard and, in the second instance, a street; it is bright and quiet with wooden floors and high ceilings.

The thirteenth arrondissement (district of Paris) is a mainly residential and business district of Paris. Close by is the very modern Bibliothèque Nationale de France. Please click on map to right for larger view.

It is also home to Paris’ chinatown and has a strong Vietnamese community. The northwest maintains some of the charm of the Latin quarter, while the outer areas give way to modern sky-rise blocks.

Perhaps the most animated area at it’s heart, is the Place D’Italy and the avenue de Gobelins that leads into the fifth arrondissement. Certain quaint pockets exist in such areas as La Buttes aux Cailles which are like a little hamlet in the city. Five minutes walk takes you to the banks of the River Seine.

Paris

Paris, the city which is generally regarded as the most romantic in the world, is packed with places of interest; historical, cultural and gastronomical, with a host of world famous attractions. Ascend the Eiffel Tower for a breathtaking panoramic view of the city, or a boat trip on the River Seine. Visit the Louvre and see the world famous Mona Lisa, take the Da Vinci Code Tour, or visit the Picasso or Rodin museums. There is the Arc de Triomphe, Notre Dame de Paris Cathedral, and the Basilique de Sacre-Coeur. Excellent restaurants, fabulous shopping, boulevard cafés and nightlife. Outside Paris, there is Disneyland, and the Palace of Versailles; the list of attractions goes on and on. One week will hardly be enough to discover all that Paris has to offer!

Getting there

There are airports at Charles de Gaulle airport and Paris Orly, and the Eurostar terminal is at the Gare de Nord.

The apartment is served by the Line 14 Metro and is close to the Gare de Lyon rail station. Central Paris and its visitor attractions are 5 minutes away via the metro.
