Maison des pins is an English family run bed and
breakfast,  set in a large typical
French style mansion, in the small village of
Villegailhenc, which is ideally located just 10
minutes from the historical medieval 'Cite' of
Carcassonne and 10 minutes from the airport. We
are situated in the beautiful Languedoc
countryside – an ideal location for all
types of outdoor pursuits. Surrounded by a
landscape bathed in Mediterranean sun and scented
by wild herbs such as tyme and rosemary. We are
well located for wine tasting, local vineyards
comprise of Carbardes, Minervois, Corbieres and
the sparkling white vines of blanquette de
Limoux. |

Our
house is centrally located in the medieval city
(La Cité),  just under the towering
walls of the Cité Medievale (a World Heritage
site). It is a typical French town house in a
quiet street of terraced houses. The Bastide
(later town) is only 12 minutes' walk over the
old bridge where there are many restaurants,
shops and a market 3 times a week. This
area of south west France provides a multitude of
activities and places to visit. There are the
historic towns of Toulouse, Beziers,
Castelnaudary, Pezenas ( for antiques
),Perpignan, Montpellier, Nîmes and Narbonne,
plus the many medieval hilltop villages. |
