  About our Gite

A secluded Brittany Gite set within four acres of private landscaped grounds, where you can enjoy your Brittany holiday relaxing in the grounds and alongside our private fishing lake in Brittany.

Come to your own piece of paradise where all you can hear is the stream flowing into the lake and the breeze in the trees.See if you can spot the kingfisher, the woodpecker and the local buzzards!

Fishing on site lots of roach,carp and trout.

Rural but close to facilities

Close to Etang du Dordu, Lac du Guerledan and other lakes and rivers in the Morbihan area.

Accommodation

The cottage has two main entrances. It has patio doors opening out onto a BBQ and garden furniture. Internally the cottage has on the ground floor a massive comfortable open plan lounge with a dining room with a feature stone fireplace and wood burner, with an entrance through to a separate well equipped kitchen.

The first floor, reached via a feature staircase, has an extremely spacious  bedroom with a double and 2 single beds. There is a bathroom with shower. The cottage retains many of its original features and exposed internal stone work.

About our region

The Gite is located only one kilometre from the village of Langoelan which is easily reached by foot or car along a quiet local road. In the village you can find a pizzeria and a bar/restaurant.

Just five kilometres from the gite is the beautiful Medieval village of Guemene Sur Scorff where you can find restaurants, an excellent creperie, pharmacies,large supermarket, boulangerie and delicious patisseries! So if you don't feel like self catering at home the alternatives are very close at hand.

About a 20 minute drive from our Gite you will find the lovely town of Pontivy. With its mixture of Napoleonic and Medieval architecture and the beautiful Blavet river. You'll find it's not only a lovely place to visit but it's full of wonderful restaurants,creperies and shops selling all sorts.In the summer there is also a modern outdoor pool alongside the Blavet river.

Situated right at the heart of rural Brittany, Tremer Cottage provides a wonderful base to explore this enchanting area of France at any time of year. Driving is a pleasure on wonderful quiet roads which wind through beautiful tree lined valleys and picturesque villages. This is a fantastic area for cycling, rambling and bird watching It is an artists paradise with wonderful light and a picture at every turning. 

Sights and Things to Do

The famous Lac de Guerledan with all different types of water sports and boat trips is 20 minutes away. The Nantes Brest canal is a 15 minute drive. The picturesque Golfe de Morbihan is less than an hour away, as are the historic towns of Auray, Vannes, Lorient, Quimper and Josselin.

On site we have 2 bicycles to use and can arrange local horse riding lessons.

The Lac du Dordu is 1km away and includes a small beach, lakeside bar and children’s play area.

Fishing at the Lac du Dordu has some large common carp, large Pike, tench perch and even some wild trout, fishing permits can be purchased for a day for 4€ at the village bar, so why not try your luck at fishing and with a variety of bird life makes an idyllic retreat.

Canoes and rowing boats can be used on the lake but no motorized vessels are allowed.

With so many coastlines around, many leisure activities are focused on the water such as: sailing, surfing, canoeing, rowing, and sand yachting.

For history fans, there are megaliths, châteaux, museums, and medieval towns, while food lovers will enjoy Breton cuisine, known for its legendary seafood,cakes and crêpes. 

There is a superb 9 hole golf course about 25 min's away and quad biking.

We are centrally located about 40mins from the west and north coasts, there you can find unspoilt sandy beaches, and various attractions.

Choices of the beautiful south coast beaches are a mere 40 min's away, Quimper and Concarneau are just two. The atmospheric forest of Heulgoat (part of the Arthurian legend) and the medieval forest of Merlin the Magician, where the Knights of the Round Table searched for the Holy Grail can be found 45 mins to the north.

The Lac de Guerledan,has plenty of leisure activities for every member of the family. Its rustic landscape and forest is a haven for walkers, ramblers, mountain bikers and horse-riders.

Whilst its all year round water sports centre includes dinghies, rowing-boats, pedaloes and water-skiing boat cruises and good restaurants and is well worth the visit.

The sandy beaches are ideal for children with safe swimming and the out-door cafes enable the less active to enjoy the views.

Getting There

Airports at Dinard, Nantes, Rennes, Lorient & Brest. Car hire is available at all the airports.

Ports of St Malo and Roscoff are convenient for this region.
