About
our property The beaches and harbours of the Gulf of Morbihan are within easy reach - as are leisure lakes, medieval towns and historic châteaux. The stunning Blavet valley is close by and the Rimaison Golf Club is only 10 minutes away. Les Châtaigniers is
ideally located for exploring this captivating part of
France - and for sampling the best cider south of
Somerset! Les Châtaigniers has a carport
for one car. Up to three more cars can park along the
drive. The sitting area
is furnished with a double sofa bed, two The well-equipped laundry room at the rear of the house has a washing machine and a dishwasher. Adjacent to the kitchen area is a shower room with a full-size shower cubicle, a vanity unit and a WC. The dining area is
in the sunny, glazed conservatory. All the The staircase up to the first floor is in the main room. A safety gate can be provided, although it should be noted that it is possible for a young child to get under the staircase - full supervision is therefore necessary to avoid accidents The first floor has two bedrooms (one with a double bed, the other with twin beds) and a mezzanine area with a daybed. The cosy master bedroom has a
double bed, ample storage The mezzanine is used as a sitting area, but the daybed provided converts into either a single bed or a double bed. Les Châtaigniers has an attractive west-facing garden with a swing and a lawn which is suitable for most garden games. The garden is bordered by mature shrubs, trees and hedges, which ensure complete privacy. The patio at the
front of the house is accessible from both the
conservatory and the front door. Surrounding trees and
shrubs provide some protection from the sun on the patio,
but guests are welcome to move the garden furniture to
more shady parts of the garden if necessary.
To confirm the booking, we require an initial payment of 25% of the total holiday cost and a completed Booking Form. The remainder of the holiday cost and a security deposit of £100 are due 6 weeks prior to your arrival date. Please send the security deposit as a separate cheque and it will be returned to you upon confirmation from our agents that everything at the house is in order after your holiday. Bed linen and towels are included in the price - but please bring your own beach towels. A Welcome Pack is available for 10€ A cot is available on request. If you wish to bring your dog with you, please arrange this with us in advance. Arrival is normally between 3pm and 4pm unless otherwise agreed. Because we still live in the UK, you will be greeted at the beginning of your holiday by Helen & Stuart- a local English couple - who can offer help and advice at any time during your stay. About our region Les Châtaigniers borders the gorgeous Blavet Valley. Walking, canoeing, cycling, golfing, swimming and karting are all on offer in the area. For the less energetic, there are boat trips along the River Blavet from Auray, Lochrist and St-Nicolas-des-Eaux. As well as various châteaux, museums and gardens to visit, there are fascinating prehistoric sites at Carnac and a zoo at Pont-Scorff (30 minutes). If you enjoy swimming, the Atlantic coast is less than an hour's drive away. Or if you prefer water sports, a large leisure lake - Lac Guerledan - is a half-hour drive away. It is also a delightful spot for a picnic. Les Châtaigniers is 2km from the centre of the pretty town of Pluméliau. The town has two boulangeries, two small supermarkets, a pharmacy, a petrol station, a pizzeria, restaurants and several bars. The nearby towns of Baud (10 minutes) and Pontivy (20 minutes) also have an excellent selection of shops and restaurants - as well as a swimming pool. To the east of Pluméliau are the lovely towns of Josselin, Malestroit and Rochefort-en-Terre - all worth a visit during your holiday.
