About
our region Resclen,
situated in Southern Brittany, 25 kilometres north The local town of Le Faouët, 6
km away with a very fine medieval covered market, has a
variety of restaurants, cafes, bars, shops, chemist and
tourist office, and there is also an indoor heated
swimming pool. Four Cottages/Gites each sleeping from 2 to 10 people. Resclen is able to sleep 20+ people in total. There is something for everyone at Resclen, plenty of space for children to play and quiet areas to simply unwind. Dating from the sixteenth century, Resclen was originally a working Breton farm, and now has four tastefully converted cottages/gites, retaining oak beams and many other original features, which can sleep from 2 to 10 people. Having an elevated position with south facing courtyard, Resclen has wonderful views over Breton fields, forests and hills. Facilities at Resclen include a
laundry room, Petanque pitch, volleyball, badminton,
football and a huge grass area where ball games are There are individual barbecues on each cottage patio. Resclen is special in that it can provide accommodation for individual family groups, couples, familes or friends holidaying together. We can provide accommodation for large groups, clubs, associations etc with beds for up to 28 people. By special arrangement Resclen is also able to provide a limited amount of camping space. Well and Pump Cottages (Well sleeps 6+, Pump 5+) These two properties were formerly the farmhouse, accommodation in both comprises: Ground floor open plan kitchen and living area, (the Pump Cottage has a large traditional stone fireplace with wood burner), glazed door leading onto the south facing patio with furniture. Well Cottage has space for an additional single if required. Bathroom with shower, washhand basin and WC. There is also a separate WC with wash hand basin on this floor. Stairs to the second floor with large double bedroom, velux windows to north and south and space for a cot if required. Orchard
Studio Cottage (sleeps 2+) The Studio Cottage provides accommodation for two people plus baby if required, comprising: Mezzanine sleeping area. Downstairs is: A spacious open plan living area, with modern kitchen, an additional double day bed and dining area. Bathroom with shower, wash hand basin and WC. A glazed door leads to a secluded little patio on the edge of the orchard. The studio also benefits from electric heating and log burner, which makes a cosy little all year round property. Stable
Cottage (sleeps 9) As the name suggests, formerly the farm stables and now converted to provide spacious accommodation for large families or a group travelling together. The ground floor has a large living room, again with a traditional stone fireplace and wood burner. There is also a 6ft dining table with eight chairs, for those large family meals. A separate fitted kitchen with further dining table and seating for six, glazed door leading to a private south facing patio with furniture and wonderful views over the surrounding forest and rolling hills. Stairs to the first floor with two double bedrooms, one en-suite and both with space for a cot Two bunkrooms, one with enough space for a further small single if required. Two bathrooms each with shower, wash hand basin and WC. Short Stays & Longer lets Resclen is available for short stays, again all year round, in Stable Cottage and Orchard Studio. It is child friendly, with cots, highchairs and baby baths available for loan at no additional cost. Longer lets can
be arranged for such things as house hunting, temporary
accommodation etc, with the owners being on site to offer
assistance where possible.
Short Breaks Please contact the owners direct for the tariff. Included in the price above :- Gas, water, baby baths, highchairs and cots. Duvets and pillows are provided, sheets and pillow cases can be hired at 9 euro per week per double, 5 euro per week single or you can bring your own, you will have to provide own towels. Electricity here is expensive, the cost will be ascertained from meter readings at the beginning and end of your stay, we build in an allowance of 10€ so that you will only be charged for any consumption over 10€; charged at 0.25€ per unit, the average consumption for a family of 4/5 is around 15€ per week, 30€ per fortnight, minus 10€ = 20€ for the fortnight. Getting there Resclen is situated on the D131 between Le Faouet and Le Croisty. At the junction of the D769 & D131 (sign for Beg er Roch) from the north turn left, from the south turn right, and Resclen is 3km from here.
