About
our mobile homes
This is a camp site with a big
difference! Not only does it offer all you
would expect in the way of activities and facilities but
is located in the beautiful 36 acre gardens of a 14th
Century Chateau, full of history which you can learn
about on a guided tour soon after your arrival. The River
Odet runs safely through the grounds, providing lovely
views. We find it very refreshing to be able to offer
mobile homes in such a cultured atmosphere, without
spoiling the fun. We have
two IRM 'Super Mecure Famille' homes and one Willerby 'Le
Cottage' home.
Our mobile homes are very new and
modern. They are all in excellent condition and come very
well equipped including a microwave/oven/grill, gas hob,
fridge with small freezer compartment, toaster, kettle,
cd/dvd facilities, plenty of dishes, pans, glasses and
cutlery, warm blankets, clock, small wall heater in
living area, a portable electric heater, portable
electric fans, patio furniture including sun-loungers,
bbq, table, chairs and a parasol.
We have provided a small selection of books, music cd's,
family games and dvd's for your relaxation.
Each home is fitted with a smoke alarm and fire
extinguisher.
Please note - sheets, pillow cases and towels are not
provided. You may take your own or hire them from the
camp site. (Hire prices available upon request).
The homes sleep up to six people
(with additional cot space if needed in the main
bedroom). There are two bedrooms, one with a double bed,
wardrobe space with plenty of hangers, overhead cupboards
and bedside cabinets. The second bedroom is very similar
with two single beds, wardrobe with plenty of hangers,
overhead cupbards and one bedside cabinet between them.
Two of our homes have extra space
in the main bedroom for a cot. (Cots availabile to hire
from the camp site).
The sofa in the living area also
serves as another double bed. There is a good kitchen
area with ample work space, a dining table which
comfortably seats six, a shower room with spacious shower
cubicle and a wash hand basin. The toilet
is separate.
All homes have their own private garden area and decked
patio for your privacy when eating or if you just want a
quiet, relaxing evening with a bottle of french wine
Smoking is not allowed in the mobile
homes. Sorry - no pets.

About
our region
Quimper is a
beautiful medieaval town, full of history and myth, which
lies 354 miles west of Paris and 127 miles north-west of
Rennes.
The name Quimper is derived from the word 'Kemper', which
is a Breton word for 'confluence of two rivers' which in
this case are the Rivers Odet and Steir.
Quimper boasts diverse architecture ranging from it's beautiful
Gothic Cathedral to the impressive Granite Bishop's
Palace and many private 16th Century mansions!
The Cathedral, which is dedicated to St Corentin, is the
most complete Cathedral in Brittany and still boasts its
original 15th Century stained glass windows and twin
spires.
Quimper is also famous for its faience pottery which goes
back to Gallo-Roman times. You can actually visit a
working museum/shop of the famous HB Henriott factory and
see pieces being made and maybe treat yourself to a
piece.
Quimper is a very
charming city with its cobbled streets, half timbered
houses and very friendly atmosphere.
There are plenty of shops,
creperies, restaurants and bars alongside tempting
mouth-watering chocolate shops and bakeries.
When the shopping gets too much - relax in one of the
many eateries and try a plate of 'moules' (mussels) or a
crepe and a glass of locally brewed cider - very
refreshing !
Quimper has an indoor food market which sells everything
from eggs to snails !
and each Wednesday and Friday in the main square is a
small outdoor market.
About 300m from the camp site you will find two good
retail parks one has a 'Geant' hypermarket and the other
a 'Carrefour', along with various other retailers.
There's everything you need on these retail parks from
sports clothes to live crabs!
There are lots of villages, towns and beaches within easy
reach. Just outside Quimper is Josselin,
home to one of France's largest castles, Benodet is the
closest beach resort at about a 15 minute drive or a
short boat ride from Quimper. The picturesque towns and
villages of Pont Aven, Locronan and Concarneau are all
within easy reach and are definitely worthy of a visit.
During peak seasons, Concarneau and Pont Aven have large
street markets on a Friday and Tuesday respectively.
Around mid July each
year, Quimper holds the largest Breton Festival Of
Cornuaille, where locals dress up in traditional costumes
and have street parades, there are market stalls, music
bands, street entertainers, traditional dancing etc. It
lasts for about a week and is very picturesque and a
sight to be seen.
