  The Properties

Four properties offering luxury accommodation for between 2 and 6 guests, with total sleeping capacity of 15 (plus cots).

Kergudon has been a place of peace and serenity since a presbytery was established here in the 17th century – the property dates from 1640, massive wooden beams, exposed stone and logburners abound.

The presbytery and its stables have been tastefully converted to provide luxury holiday accommodation in a stunning combination of modern facilities and timeless French style and character.

Quite simply, our aim is to provide luxury accommodation for all of our guests. A “home from home” feel is achieved through each of our properties being furnished to a very high standard and with a comprehensive list of equipment.

The Priory (sleeps 6 plus cots)

This part of Kergudon is the old presbytery dating from
1640. Although complete with luxury furnishings and modern facilities, original features abound with oak beams, wooden floors and stone walls. A key feature of the property is the vaulted ceiling lounge complete with huge stone fireplace and mezzanine floor accessed by a spiral stone staircase.

Property details as follows:

Lounge with open stone fireplace and wood burner. Sofa and chairs, dining table and chairs, colour TV, video player, CD and DVD players. Satellite TV.

Mezzanine floor accessed by spiral stone staircase from lounge with double bed and sofa bed (further access also available by separate wooden stairs). Space available for cot if required.

Luxury fitted kitchen with washing machine, dishwasher, microwave, full size fridge freezer, electric oven and hob.

Downstairs WC and wash basin.

Access to front of property (for parking) and main garden at rear.

Wooden stairs to two bedrooms, each with twin single beds.

Family bathroom with separate shower, bath, WC and wash basin.

Private patio area and huge sunny garden with hardwood garden furniture, BBQ and parasol. Children’s’ splash pool during summer months. Private parking space next to the property with additional parking nearby if required.

Pendower (sleeps 5 plus cots)

Restored in 2003 and redecorated each year since then, Pendower offers high quality family accommodation along with a large private sunny garden and patio area.

A large wood burner ensures this property is comfortable all year round! Pendower is ideal for families as the property has two bathrooms and two lounge areas so plenty of space if you have teenagers in your party!

Access from garden and parking into:

Fully fitted modern kitchen with gas cooker, washing machine, full size fridge freezer and microwave.

Adjacent dining area with dining table and chairs, wood burner and sofa / comfy armchair.

Downstairs bathroom with bath, wash basin and WC. Stairs to mid floor lounge with sofa, colour TV and video / CD / DVD players. Satellite TV.

Leading off this is an en-suite double bed bedroom (shower, WC and wash basin).

On the next floor is a further bedroom with three single beds.

Two private parking spaces adjacent to the property.

The Nare (sleeps 2 plus cot)

Redecorated in 2007, this property was previously one of
the old stables. Situated adjacent to a large sunny garden, the Nare has its own private patio and parking area. A stone chimney with wood burner and wooden ceiling beams add to the character of this charming property.

This property is ideal for couples or can be used as overflow accommodation for one of the larger properties.

Property details as follows:

Lounge / dining area with wood burner. Dining table and chairs. DVD player.

Fully fitted kitchen area with gas cooker, microwave and fridge with freezer compartment.

Open plan double bedroom with wardrobe.

Adjacent family bathroom with WC, vanity unit and bath with shower over.

The Nook (sleeps 2 plus cot) B&B also available

This property, like the Nare, was previously one of the old
presbytery’s stables. Situated at the top of a large sunny garden, the Nook has its own private patio and parking area.

This property is ideal for couples or can be used as overflow accommodation for one of the larger properties.

The Nook is the smallest of the properties at Kergudon and is essentially a large bedroom with adjacent bathroom (like a studio apartment).

The property does however have a fridge and microwave allowing for limited self-catering and has been used for weeklong stays by couples eating out a lot!

Also ideal for those looking for a bed and breakfast type holiday or for accommodation on a budget.

Property details as follows:

Bedroom with double bed, dining table and chairs, microwave and fridge. Tea and coffee making facilities as well as crockery and cutlery. CD player.

Bathroom with WC, vanity unit and shower.

Kergudon House

For large groups of family and friends, why not hire all of our properties at the same time? The four properties have a total of seven bedrooms and six bathrooms so the accommodation can be divided up in a variety of ways.

In the interests of guest safety and comfort, all internal areas of Kergudon are strictly no smoking.

Free use of our mountain bikes will also help you to explore the local area; we also have kayaks that can be used for free on nearby Lake Drennec.

About our region

Kergudon is located in the hamlet of St Cadou, deep in the heart of Brittany’s Armorique National Park. Less than a mile from the beautiful Lake Drennec, Kergudon occupies a tranquil setting surrounded by forests and yet is only a short drive from stunning beaches and picturesque French villages. All around the property is the stunning countryside of the Monts D’Arree and is loved by all that visit

Quiet and unhurried, St Cadou is not for those seeking bars and restaurants on their doorstep. However, just an eight minute drive away is Sizun where you will find restaurants, bars, shops, banks, a pharmacy, tourist information centre and open air swimming pool (summer only).

St Cadou is at the centre of an extensive footpath network with routes through forests and over hills. Less than a mile from Kergudon and reached by a woodland path is Lake Drennec, ideal for summer bathing and all year boating and walking. A five mile walk circles the lake and there is a creperie restaurant half way round from where you can enjoy a meal or a drink.

St Cadou is very well placed to explore all of the delights of Western Brittany. A detailed information pack assembled by the owners will guide you to walks, beaches, attractions, cycle routes and restaurants in the area.


Getting there

There are many channel crossings to choose from – these range from Dover – Calais (approx. 1 hr) to Plymouth to Roscoff (approx. 7 hrs). The cheapest crossings are in the Dover – Calais area with prices generally rising the farther west you go. As a result, our customers in the east of the UK generally prefer to cross in the Dover area and then drive in France where roads are excellent with less traffic than the UK and generally cheaper petrol / diesel. The nearest ferry crossing to us is Plymouth to Roscoff and we are situated about 45 minutes south of Roscoff ferry port.

There are two operators now flying into Brest, although some flights are March to October schedules only. Brest airport is 45 mins from us and there are a number of car hire firms at the airport. www.flybe.com - flights to Brest from Exeter, Birmingham, Manchester and Southampton.
www.ryanair.com – flights to Brest from Luton and to Dinard (2.5 hours from us) from East Midlands and Stansted airports.
