About
our property The gîte is one of four farm buildings, all of which we hope will, when fully restored, provide all year round accommodation for holiday makers. We live in the house next door with our family, and have been here since early 2005. Accommodation This
is a pretty two bedroom gîte sleeping up to 4 people. As well as the double and twin bedrooms, it has an open plan living room/kitchen, a shower room, and a sunny, south facing terrace at the front, where you can dine outside and make use of the barbeque. The gîte is fully equipped with a washing
machine, Bed linen is provided on request, for a small additional charge. Firewood is also provided if you require, and we have bikes available for you to borrow. Future accommodation We are currently renovating the old stone barn next to the house. This will create two further gîtes, which will be available to rent from May 2007. One of the new gîtes will have 2 bedrooms and sleep 4-5 people, the other will have 3 bedrooms and sleep 6-8. The larger of the two gîtes will have disabled access. It will also be possible for both gîtes to be rented as one, to accommodate larger groups. There will be a communicating door, which can be opened to allow easier access between both gîtes. From March next year we will begin to take bookings for the 2 new gîtes, and then we will have tariff information available. Prices and booking information
There is an additional charge for bed linen of 8€ per bed, if required. Heating, electricity and water charges are included. About our region Lannion and the Trégor region. Guergillès is 5km from Lannion, an attractive Breton town and capital of the Trégor region, which has a busy weekly market where you can browse and savour some of the local produce. We are a 20 minute drive from the Côte de
Granit Rose Fêtes and Festivals The people of the Trégor region are famed for their love of fêtes and festivals. Throughout the year there are many events where it is possible to experience local Breton culture, music and dance, while taking the opportunity to savour some of the local cuisine. During the summer season there is always
an event going There are also many “Pardons” (Saints day celebrations) throughout the year. These centre around local churches, where statues of saints are carried in procession around the parish. Getting there By ferry : Your best options are Portsmouth to St Malo on Brittany Ferries, or Plymouth to Roscoff also on Brittany ferries. From Roscoff, Guergilles is an hours drive, and the drive from St Malo will take 2 hours. From the Channel ports of Cherbourg and Caen the journey takes about 4 hours. By air: Ryanair have flights from Luton to Brest, or from Stanstead to Dinard. Flybe have flights from Southampton, Exeter and Birmingham to Brest. Guergilles is an hours drive from Brest and two hours from Dinard. Car hire is available from both airports. If you should chose to fly, we recommend that you hire a car. By train: To get here from the UK by train, take the Eurostar to Paris and then the TGV from Paris to Plouaret-Tregor. Trains leave from Gare Montparnass and take about 3.5 hours. Plouaret-Tregor is 10km from Guergilles and is on the Paris to Brest line.
