our Property Whether you are looking for an overnight stop, a short break, or a longer stay, you can be sure of a warm welcome at this English owned 17th Century Manor House, which is situated in a picturesque, secluded and tranquil setting on the edge of the Forest of Duault. Apart from those who are looking to relax, unwind and get away from it all, being central to the region, just 5 kilometers from Callac, we are ideally situated for those wishing to explore Brittany's beautiful and varied countryside as well as the hundreds of kilometres of stunning shoreline. Additionally for those who are house hunting in the area, le Manoir is the perfect base. Le Manoir du Neveit was built in 1641.The house sits in its own south facing landscaped gardens within its six acre grounds, overlooking the nearby Forest of Duault situated in this secluded, tranquil and peaceful setting. Within the gardens are numerous trees including apples, pears, plums, cherries, walnut, almond, sweet and horse chestnuts. We also benefit greatly from the wide variety of wildlife that the forest attracts. Birds in abundance will also be seen in the garden. B&B Accommodation in the Manoir We have two warm, cosy double bedrooms with double beds, with views over the forest of Duault. Tea and coffee making facilities are of course included. Self catering prices include the provision of all bed linen, gas and electricity. Please note that all our rooms are non smoking. We have a policy of no smoking as we don't want to damage your heath... We could also do the occasional baby sitting duty, so of course children are welcome. As we live on site, we will be available for any assistance you may need and will gladly advise on all that's happening in our area, our favourite restaurants, etc. Special Occasions With the beautiful stone manor house as a backdrop, Le Manoir du Neveit is an ideal setting for wedding parties and other special occasions. For family reunions, retirement or engagement parties or simply a meal with friends, you can rent the large downstairs reception room. Carolyn and Steve are happy to let couples have their wedding photos taken in front of Le Manoir and organise the vin dhonneur, if required. Marquee hire can be arranged, as well as catering by a traiteur or delicatessen, or you may prefer to arrange to do your own catering and simply have use of the kitchen. Depending on your plans, you may wish to stay for the night in the Chambres dHôte. Le Manoir du Neveit is high quality accommodation with the best of everything but with a relaxed and homely atmosphere. Your hosts will do all they can to make your stay enjoyable. About our Region Le Manoir is ideally suited for those looking for an extremely laid back, peaceful, comfortable base in the heart of Brittany. Its also a good central base for those looking to buy property in the region, or for a stop over for those travelling to or from the ferry ports. There are beautiful country walks just outside, including the Gorges du Corong, and for those more energetic we have bicycles. Our nearest town, Callac, is about 5 kilometres away, it has all the usual facilities, a bustling market day on Wednesdays, two supermarkets, station, pharmacy, patisseries, boulangieres, boucherie, charcuterie, bars, restaurants, fuel, and a good newsagent selling English papers etc. There is a fine lake for swimming, fishing and boating, a good walking area with water gardens, a children's play area etc. Carhaix is the nearest large town with all the ammenities and shopping opportunities that you would expect, from Markets to Garden Centres. Excellent swimming pools can be found in both Carhaix and Guingamp. We are 45 minutes drive from Lannion to the north, with its beautiful rose granite coast with sheltered coves and sandy beaches. An hours drive to Brest in the west, and an hours drive to the south will take you to the lively old port of Concarneau with its walled town. Concarneau is still one of France's most important fishing ports. Nearby is Pont Aven, the artists paradise, and Carnac, the most important prehistoric site in Europe with its megaliths. One of the most attractive towns in the region Guémené sur Scorff. The impressive old castle of the Ducs de Rohan, can be found in Pontivy. This large town is centred along the long main street where the castle sits at its northen end. The charming town of Rostrenen retains a sense of tranquillity in the midst of a busy world. Golfing at nearby Carhaix, indeed there are many courses within easy reach throughout Brittany (Click Here). Getting there Le Neveit is approximately 5 kilometres south of our nearest market town of Callac, which is adjacent to the D787. A further 20 minutes' drive north on the D787 will bring you to Guingamp where the D787 joins the main N12. Ryanair operate daily discounted flights into Brest and Dinard from Stansted. Car hire is available at the airports with Hertz and Europcar. From Brest to us it is approximately a one hour drive, Dinard being a little further takes 1½ hours. The ports of Roscoff, St Malo, Cherbourg, Caen and Le Havre are all within easy driving distances, whilst Calais is approximately a 6½ hour drive.
