This spectacular French home rests peacefully in over four acres of wooded landscaped gardens on the edge of the small town of Mauriac, situated on the border of the Dordogne Valley and within the National Volcanic Park of Auvergne.

The cool tree lined drive opens to a wonderful view of this stunning French property which has been meticulously renovated to a very high standard.

Whilst retaining all of its many period features such as wood paneled ceilings, marble floors, and oversized stone fireplaces cut from local volcanic rock, it provides its guests with a truly luxurious holiday experience.

Four luxury, professionally designed bedrooms with en-suite facilities (three double and one family). We aim to cater for your every need with bath robes, slippers and luxury toiletries, ensuring a very pampered stay whilst on holiday at La Croux

Our Rooms

The Blue Room

A double chambre situated on the ground floor, furnished with stunning antique wardrobe and bed frame. Decorated in soft pale blues complemented with silk cushions and bedding. A truly sumptious room.

The Platinium Room

On entering the ground floor platinum room you immediatley feel the french grandeur of this double chambre. Decorated in soft neutral colours with decadent bedding and antique furniture, all completed with views over the landscaped gardens of La Croux.

The Chocolate Room

Situated on the first floor the chocolate chambre has a fantastic view over the gardens of La Croux. The chocolate flock wallpaper is complemented with teal coloured textured silk curtains and cushions. This double chambre is also furnished with antique wardrobe and bed frame.

The Black Room

A Family chambre situated on the first floor, furnished with one double and one single bed also with antique furniture. Decorated with black flock curtains a beautiful patterned silver and black wallpaper, flock light fitting and textured bedding, true luxury.

About our gite

The Pavilion

The pavilion nestles within the four acres of garden and has been totally renovated in 2007 to meet your every comfort.

As the gite is accessed by stairs, it may not be suitable for the less mobile.

About our region

Welcome to the central region of Auvergne, the western gateway to the Volcano D’Auvergne National Park.

Mauriac is a tourist centre in a superb location on the edge of the Dordogne valley, with panoramic views of the Sancy and the Monts Du Central, with numerous outdoor activities including an outdoor swimming pool, tennis, lake and nine-hole Golf Course. For the more energetic, there is walking and cycling. Horse riders are also well catered for with the well reputed Western Stable “Elvage Du Sagrin”. Alternatively Mauriac has numerous bars and restaurants and a weekly market selling local produce.

Nearby is the medieval of Salers which is classified as ono eof the prettiest villages in France, as is Touremiere with its superb castle towering over the valley of the Doire. Shoppers should not feel left out after a visit to Aurillac, a beautiful town set on the river La Jordanne.

By Road

La Croux is 5 hours driving time from Paris, 7 hrs from Le Havre or Caen, and about 8 hours from Calais.

By Rail

The nearest Railway Station is at Aurillac, 40 mins drive by road from Mauriac.

By Air

Clermont Ferrand Airport

You can fly to Aurillac directly from Paris, and Mauriac is only a 40 min drive by road.
