Domaine de Gavaudun : small Holiday Resort offering high quality vacation rentals (condos and bungalows), B&B/hotel, restaurant, pool, various activities.  Absolutely unique of its kind in the area.

The domain is built like a small village in the middle of woods and fields. 

The houses, of typically Périgordian construction, consist of vacation rental apartments, making the sleeping capacity varied between 4-7 people depending on the type.  These holiday apartments offer you all the modern day comforts to make an agreeable holiday in France. 

The principle buildings are constructed from regional ochre stone dating from the 18th century which have been tastefully restored.  These include the restaurant, bar and rest area, front office, five B&B hotel rooms, several lodges.

The ‘centre of life’ is arranged around a superb barn (bar-common area) and a large swimming pool, allowing you to relax and leave the children to run around.There are beautiful walks through woods and fields with frolicking horses and ponies for your pleasure.

On site activities : swimming, tennis, volley-ball, running track, table tennis, boules, billiards, play area for the children, …Close to the complex: horseback riding, cycling, rock climbing, caving, canoeing/kayaking, fishing, varied day trips.

Prices per week in euros

10% discount on your full stay for two consecutive weeks and more.

3% discount for internet reservation + 2% discount for payment via European draft, French cheque or cash.

Water, electricity and heating included.

Bed sheets, bath & kitchen towels - €11 euros/pers. per change.

Pets are welcome - €33 euros /pet/week.

Additional bed (if available) - €45 euros per week
Cot with sheets - €25 euros per week
TV rental (French channels) - €30 euros per week

Damage deposit - €250 euros

Bar, restaurant and activities during high season

B&B/Hotel

From June to September, in the nicely renovated old farm buildings, we are proposing a charming little inn with only 5 bedrooms, with two to five beds (one with two rooms), bathroom with shower and toilet, common open terrace with garden furniture.  Suitable for disabled people.
Our restaurant can of course accommodate more people, so as to please all of our clients.
Open summer evenings : Thursday (barbecue), Friday and Saturday (Perigordian diner), Sunday (day menu).

Additional nights - 20% discount (no linen change or cleaning)

Groups
 
Many groups of hikers, horse riders or cyclists are choosing Domaine de Gavaudun as homebase for their excursions.

We are often welcoming groups for such special events as weddings, birthday party, family reunion, etc.

We can also accommodate small groups for seminars (professional or sports) out of the high tourist season.

About our region

Gavaudun is a typical and very small village, dominated by its 11th century castle with a remarkable dungeon.  It is nestled between the valleys of the Lot and the Dordogne rivers and is close to the majestic châteaux of Biron and Bonaguil as well as the bastides of Monflanquin and Monpazier.

You can find the house of Bernard Palissy 6 km away … Sarlat and its festival 65 km away … Rocamadour, Saint Emilion, Les Eyzies, Cahors, Moissac and many other exceptional sites waiting for your visit.

Périgord is also particularly renowned for its fine cuisine: duck, truffles, cepe mushrooms, foie gras, prunes, nuts, … accompanied by the wines of Bergerac, Monbazillac, Cahors, Buzet, … What pleasure to walk around the markets!
Lastly, to please all, there are numerous cultural events organised by the region.

The staff at the domain would be happy to suggest interesting visits and sight seeing.

Getting there

Domaine de Gavaudun is in the heart of the picturesque Gavaudun Valley, 7 km from Fumel, 55 km from Agen, 50 km from Bergerac and 55 km from Cahors.  The TGV high speed train from Paris, Bordeaux or Toulouse stops at Agen.  Bordeaux and Toulouse airports are 130km away and there are two regional airports at Bergerac and Agen at your disposal.
