Luxury apartments set in the grounds of a 19th century château.

A luxurious retreat deep in the furthest South West corner of France, situated between Biarritz and Dax.

The apartments are located in the grounds of a 19th century château amidst 25 acres of gardens. There is an extra large (18m x 9m) outdoor pool, shared by all apartments.

There are also BBQs available for guests' use as well as bicycles.

There is a choice of seven individual and independent apartments, each with its own unique character.

The apartments are located in a newly renovated outbuilding, which has been lovingly transformed to create beautiful self catering holiday accommodation.

The Apartments

A choice of 1, 2 or 3 bedroomed apartments

All the self catering apartments have been renovated to an exceptional standard and all offer light airy rooms with either tiled or marble floors to the living areas and all with wooden floors to the upstairs.

All apartments are on two levels. Each has it's own private entrance with direct access to the gardens and with it's own garden furniture for dining and relaxing outdoors.

Each apartment has been tastefully decorated and equipped to a very high standard and are furnished in individual styles to suit the apartment. Some of the apartments have bed settee's in the living area for extra sleeping. All apartments are spacious, the smallest being 45sq.m. and the largest 124sq.m.

There is a choice of 1, 2, and 3 bedroomed apartments. Genevieve has an extra shower room on the ground floor, whilst La Lantage has an en-suite shower room to the master bedroom.

All linen, including tea towels and towels (except beach towels) is provided. Baby equipment (cot, including bedding, highchair, pushchair) is available free of charge, but needs to be reserved at time of booking to ensure availability.

We also have a selection of DVD's for guests use as well as a selection of garden games, table tennis, table football, darts and inflatables for the pool.

Interior Design Course

The courses are open to anyone with an interest in Interior Design, but especially the absolute beginner.They offer a superb opportunity for hands on training and to meet others who share your interest.

Tuition and practise are delivered to suit the individual needs of the student, and are designed to cover all aspects of Interior Design. The courses are organised and run by a professionally qualified tutor with many years experience of teaching.

Courses run throughout the year, with a maximum of 6 students and aim to provide a truly unique learning experience in an informal relaxed setting, which will hopefully provide you with many happy memories as well as a group of new friends. There will be 15 hours tuition per week as well as opportunities for visits to chateaux, purchasing typical french fabrics and trimmings, visits to local markets and brocantes, all of which should add inspiration to your own ideas.

The cost of this course is £550.00 per person per week and is inclusive of accommodation, breakfast, all materials used for the course and any visits to chateaux.(exc: of flights and car hire) Any fabric purchases etc will be at your own expense. Accommodation will be in one of our apartments depending on the size of your group, 2, 4 or 6 persons. The cost for non-participating partners is £300.00.

French and English for Children aged 5 -11 years.

Would you like your child to learn French or does your child need extra help with English. Why not utilise their holiday as an opportunity for learning and extra tuition. Tuition can be as little as an hour a day or more depending on your childs needs.

The aim is to encourage, build confidence and knowledge for each child and to ensure that all teaching is child centred, based on your childs needs and, working at a pace that benefits your child. The aim is to release your childs potential.

Price: £20.00 per hour per child. Maximum of 4 to a group. Lessons will need to be booked at the same time as booking your holiday, in order to ensure availability.

About our region

Riviere is a quiet village nestling on the banks of the river Adour, and sitting on the edge of Europes largest forest, The Parc National des Landes. The forest is made up of pine trees which helped to drain Les landes when it was nothing more than marshy swamp land. The forest is ideal for walking, hiking, jogging and cycling. The forest also shelters the interior from coastal winds.

The village is in a pastoral location away from the urban bustle, but has well marked roads that wind through the verdant countryside. It is an ideal location for those who seek the tranquility of the French countryside, but also wish to be within easy reach of the coast as well as interesting towns and villages.

The village centre is 2kms distance and the amenities inlude Church, Mairie, Sports centre, Post Office, Village Store for everyday items, 2 bars/restaurants. The nearest doctor is in the village and the nearest hospital is in Dax 8kms away.

Surrounding the village are approximately 32 thousand acres of community land just waiting to be explores, either on foot or by cycling. See how many species of birds you can spot and watch those gentle free roaming horses as they quietly follow you hoping that you are going to provide lunch! beautiful calm walks abound in this area, including along the River Adour which run from The Pyrenees, through Pau and onto the Atlantic Ocean at Bayonne.

Dax - A Relaxing City

With it's privileged position, in the heart of the forest, between the Atlantic Ocean (beaches, surfing, fishing, sailing) and The Pyrenees (skiing, snow boarding, hikes) Dax is the city of perfection, only 4 hours from Paris by TGV, famous for it's rugby, it's bullfights and it's food. Dax is truly a city of culture and leisure activities, with over 100,00 visitors each year. There is something rather special about sitting at a French pavement cafe and watching the world go by.

Lac du Christus offers you all the pleasures of swimming with it's indoor pool. canoeing, pedal boats, fishing, tennis, petanque or just pure relaxation. The children can have fun in the adventure playground which is set in the shade of groves or why not follow one of the many walking and cycling trails.

There is something for everyone at the lake including a 10 pin bowling alley, casino, piano bar, night club and restaurant which has many themed entertainment evenings.

Caliceo, by the lakeside. Why not enjoy its exceptional fittings, 3 swimming pools (indoor and outdoor) jacuzzis, swan necks, bubble seats and beds, high pressure jets, geysers, water falls, against current swimming, 3 saunas, 3 hammas, solarium, fitness rooms (any level) free aqua gym and stretching lessons. There is also a full range of beauty and spa treatments for those wishing to be pampered. Afterwards, why not treat the taste buds in the french cafe/restaurant which offers specialities and health foods.

There is also a full calender of events from May to November which includes Open Air Films, Fireworks around the lake in August, a Light and Sound Show in September and a Circus in November.
