  About our gites

The property, which is set in 34 acres of woodland and flower meadows, is reached via a winding private country lane, where it nestles just below the nap of the hill.

Originally a manoir built for the procurer of Louis X1V, it had been sensitively restored to provide a high standard of comfort whilst retaining the charm and quirky character of the period.

The gites will appeal to those seeking the calm and tranquility of the countryside but convenient for the many attractions of the Dordogne.

Maison de la Grange (sleeps 2)

This charming dwelling is a conversion of one end of an old tobacco drying barn.

There is a spacious lounge area, comfortably furnished, with English/French TV, DVD, CD and radio.

The attractive dining area is a good size and has seating fro 4 people.

There is a fully equipped kitchen with fridge/freezer, dishwasher, washing machine, full cooker, microwave etc. ( a welcome pack with a few essential provisions and a nice bottle of Bergerac wine is provided)

The bedroom is spacious with a king size bed and a luxury en-suite bathroom.

Both the lounge and the bedroom have French doors opening onto a pretty covered terrace with wonderful views across the vally, perfect for outside living and those romantic dinners.

The gite has a pretty private garden for sunbathing but with mature trees for those who prefer shade. There is a lovely area for picnicking in the old orchard. There is private parking.

Maison Mireille (sleeps 2-4)

Maison Mireille is a separate and private part of the beautiful manoir.

There is a spacious living room consisting of a lounge area, comfortably furnished for four people with English/French TV, DVD, CD and radio.

A dining area with French doors looking into the courtyard.

A modern fully equipped kitchen with a fridge/freezer, washing machine, dishwasher, full cooker, microwave etc. ( a welcome pack with a few essential provisions and a bottle of Bergerac wine is provided).

It has two spacious and well furnished double bedrooms, one with a kingsize bed and one with two singles. Both bedrooms have luxury en-suite bathrooms.

There is a large conservatory comfortably furnished for eating and relaxing, with wonderful views across the valley and opening onto a pleasant private garden. There is private parking.

A deposit of £150 reserves your holiday, the remainder paid 6 weeks before your holiday commences.

An accidental damage deposit of £150 is requested on arrival to be returned within one week of your holiday ending.

The prices includes all linen.

About our region

The property is ideally situated for walking or cycling in the unspoilt countryside.

The pretty village of St Pompon is within walking distance and here you can find all essential provision as well as bars and restaurants.

The medieval village of Daglan with its gourmet restaurant is within 6 km.

The romantic cliff villages of Beynac and La Roque Gageac are within easy reach as is the bastide village of Domme with its wonderful views over the Dordogne.

The historic town of Sarlat with countless restaurants and colourful street markets is just a ride away.

For those wishing retail therapy the cities of Bergerac, Perigueux, Brive and Cahors are all within driving distance.

The area is steeped in history with many delightful medieval towns and villages as well as the world famous prehistoric cave settlements at Les Eyzies and Lascaux.

The whole area is rich in arts and crafts with many interesting galleries and studios.

And of course there is the Dordogne river with its beaches for paddling and swimming, boat trips or simply drifting down in canoes.

Local activities inlcude swimming, tennis, walking, cycling, fishing, horse riding, golf, mountain biking, paragliding, hot air ballooning and much more.

Getting there

By air: Bergerac airport, 50 minutes - flights from London, Southampton, Bristol, Birmingham and Exeter. Limoges airport 2.5 hours.
