MAGNIFICENT NEW SWIMMING POOL which is open from June till September, as is the On-site Shop and Restaurant. Launderette, children’s play area and tennis courts open 9 months. NOTE: Because of the interest in the mobile homes, the DEL MAR site owners are doing a special viewing offer - rental of an O’Hara home for 25 euros a night PER HOME or 160 euros per week, 250 euros for 2 weeks or 325 euros for 3 weeks and 400 euros for one month - if you can get away for that long! - You may arrive any day except Sunday, sorry, no late night arrivals. If you buy a home, stays of up to 1 week will be free, over 1 week, 25% deducted from the price of your holiday. Sheets and all bedding provided. As it costs 50 euros each way from Perpignan airport for a taxi it is as cheap to hire a car and this gives you a chance to look round the area whilst you are here. They have mains drainage and electricity with calor gas bottles available for purchase on site to run your hot water and cooking supply. For further details of the campsite please Click Here The park is planted with majestic pines with local black squirrels (relatives of the red?) searching for nuts, glorious, many hued oleander bushes, waving palm trees, aloe vera and other exotic Mediterranean plants that you may never have seen before.
MOBILE HOMES ARE DESIGNATED HOLIDAY HOMES BY THE FRENCH GOVERNMENT AND MAY NOT BE LIVED IN YEAR ROUND AS MAIN RESIDENCE. MAXIMUM OCCUPATION 9 MONTHS IN EACH YEAR. - CHOICE OF MONTHS IS UP TO YOU, ACCORDING TO PARK’S OPENING TIMES. DEL MAR contracts run from 1st of January. Demand is growing rapidly here because of rocketing property prices. It is normal practice on most parks in the area that homes may remain on site for a restricted number of years. O'Hara homes have a minimum of 20 years on site. To reserve a home you may place a 1500 euro deposit with a debit or credit card (you MUST have your PIN number as the machine here will not accept it without) and then the balance may be sent by bank to bank transfer. Site Rental Site rental fees on DEL MAR are
dependant on plot size, and may be made in 4 payments.100m2 - 2400
euros per year, 120m2 – 2650 euros, 150m2 –
3150 euros. Water is 50 euros per year and
electricity is metered if here mainly spring/summer
it is unlikely to exceed the minimum annual charge of 70
euros. Tourist tax of 0.44 euros a day (approx 3
euros per person per week) is payable by anyone
over 13 years of age from April till September, while the
home is occupied. This applies to all tourist
accommodation in the area. Pets are allowed on site so you may bring Fido with you! LE CLOS DU THYM IS A QUIET SITE 10 MINUTES FROM THE BEACH CURRENTLY BEING UPGRADED, THE FIRST SECTION IS COMPLETE, PLOTS STILL AVAILABLE BUT BE QUICK!! IT HAS ALL FACILITIES, SWIMMING POOL, CHILDRENS PLAY AREA ETC AND THE LITTLE ROAD TRAIN STOPS NEARBY. THE INSPECTION VISIT WILL INCLUDE BOTH SITES. About the region Argeles-Sur-Mer, Languedoc Roussillon, Pyrenees-Orientales, Dept 66, is situated on the Mediterranean just 40 minutes drive from the Spanish border. This region boasts approximately 300 days of sunshine each year. The Pyrenees and the revered Mount Canigou tower as a backdrop to the resort’s sandy beaches. About one and a half hours drive takes you up to the ski resorts. Every form of water sport is to be found here. Argeles has a magnificent port and is magical at night for al fresco eating or just watching the world go by! If you prefer a more active life-style drive up into the foothills of the Pyrenees for rambling, para-gliding, horse riding etc. There is an excellent golf course at St Cyprien less than 15 minutes drive away. The area has a strong Catalan influence so although in the South of France you will see touches of Spain - frescos of fruit and flowers painted on the outside of some of the buildings and the costumes of the Catalan dancers. From June to September Argeles has abundant street markets with local craftsmen selling their wares, bric a brac stalls, disco and ballroom dancing and shows of Catalan street dancing in the evenings. Many French locals do their weekly shopping on the Spanish border at Perthus or Jonquera to take advantage of the low prices of many goods including alcohol and cigarettes. On the promenade there is a small funfair, several children’s play areas and a casino. There are numerous ‘eateries’ from pizzerias to gourmet restaurants and seafood specialities. The town of Ceret (cherry) is about 20 minutes inland where the cherry trees in blossom during April are a sight to behold. Visit its modern art museum, or the famous Salvador Dali museum at Figueres- less than an hour’s drive. There are
several spa villages in the area where people come from
all over the world to take ‘la cure’ from the
relaxing waters of the thermal baths, supposedly good for
skin complaints and aches and pains. Amelie les Bains, a
charming village set in the most glorious surroundings of
pine forests and valleys, is one such – about 50
minutes drive. Getting There By air: Perpignan airport is about 40 minutes drive away Ryanair operate cheap flights from Stansted to Perpignan, sometimes as little as £20 return. www.ryanair.com Fly Stansted to

Please Note! - Ryanair also fly to Girona ( Barcelona ) which is approximately one hour's drive to the South and gives very easy access to Argeles from the following airports: East Midlands However if you arrive on a late night flight you will have to book a Bed & Breakfast overnight. If you don’t drive there is a taxi rank at the airport or a shuttle bus will take you into Perpignan where you may then catch the bus down to Argeles or take the train. A taxi from Perpignan airport will cost 50/60 euros each way. By train: Alternatively you may come by train from London Waterloo on the Eurostar which should get you to Perpignan (change at Lille) in 8 and a half hours. There is a little yellow road train which circulates around Argeles all the year enabling you to take a tour of the whole village It extends its route to the outer reaches of Argeles from June until September. Alternatively there are taxis or buses or many prefer to hire bicycles here and explore all the little side streets – a healthy and leisurely way to get to see the maximum the area has to offer.
